Overview

This challenging role is created to support the continual expansion of a Singapore-based R&D center for a MNC in the life sciences industry. The candidate\xe2\x80\x99s principal job function is to work with Singapore-based mechanical and electronic design functions to develop and evaluate new analytical instruments. In addition, the candidate will be asked to perform secondary functions such as cross-functional support relating to Singapore-based manufacturing operations. The position will report to a local R&D manager and will require occasional regional and global travel (15%).

Responsibilities

• Interpret, define or assist the definition of relevant Product Requirements and Specifications documents
• Work with different engineering functions to identify design directions and provide critical feedback
• Evaluate/test new instrument designs at both sub-assembly and system levels against design requirements
• Troubleshoot failure modes at both sub-assembly and system levels and able to rectify or provide rectification recommendations to relevant engineering authorities
• Identify and define any critical parameters and interface requirements for integration into commercial products
• Produce Product Specification Verification documents as written evidence that design requirements have been met
• Consult on design direction as an integral part of a multifunctional engineering organization
• Develop and work in partnership with other stakeholders to implement system integration strategies so that key attributes are risk managed and project timelines are met
• Contribute to design reviews, FMEAs, phase gate reviews and other project related activities as appropriate
• Comply with all workplace safety regulations, company policies and procedures
• Ensure work meets company quality standards
• Perform other duties in a professional manner as deemed necessary by the company

Qualifications

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering or a relevant discipline. Master\'s or PhD strongly preferred.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to determine root causes and provide fault data

\xc2\xb7 Ability to work with process

\xc2\xb7 Ability to multi-task and collaborate effectively within a team environment that may span multiple geographical and time zones
