This role will be responsible for providing responsive technical service to customers in the Coating industries. Focusing on identifying and developing new participating markets mainly in the Infrastructure and Consumer solution segments.

The candidate has to actively participate in the planning of projects and work with minimal supervision. Assume full responsibility for the outcome of assigned projects. Establish and maintain effective and credible relationships with key customers.

Where appropriate, participate in strategic account team(s), managing significant, strategic account interactions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with Commercial, Marketing and R&D functions in defining the market needs of the business which will lead to strategies/plans/actions needed to meet business growth in these areas.
• Seek and maintain direct contact with selected customers. Establish professional and technical credibility which result in a partnership for growth.
• To fulfil the strategies/plans outlined above, it will involve the evaluation of new and existing products to demonstrate product performance, general applications support tools and solution package to address customers request and complaints. It includes planning, preparation and implementation of training programs, technical seminars/workshops and market support programs. The output will be of high quality and unambiguous and suitable for external circulation.
• Cooperate with the Technical Manager in ensuring day to day activities are consistent and focused on long term objectives as defined in the laboratory plan. Use project planning tools to set objectives, timelines, costing, milestones and obtain feedback to plan and agreement from relevant parties prior to commencement of work.
• Demonstrate strong safety awareness and commitment with full compliance to Dow EH&S standards and guidelines.
• Establish and maintain an effective network with technical peers in the region and globally to develop effort in cross business collaboration.

KEY DECISIONS

Lead technical and field support in Architectural Coatings which covers traffic and road marking paint. New applications will be added when needs arises.

Planning, design, implementation of strategies/programmes/projects in alignment as agreed with Technical Manager.

Provide regular input to business management team on the performance and development of market needs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor or Master degree and above in Chemistry, Polymer Science or Chemical Engineering with minimum 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Research & Development, or customer technical service.

Experience in Coating Industries will be highly preferred.

Good written, oral and presentation skill in English, Other language skill such as Mandrin, Bahasa, Vietnamese is beneficial.

Good communication and interpersonal skill.

Good sense of business acumen is preferable.

Efficient in IT and communication tools.

Business travel is required when needs arises.
