Job Description


What the role is:

The Future Economy Planning Office (FEPO) is part of MTI\'s Futures, Strategy and Plans Division (FSPD), which oversees the full \'value chain\' of strategic planning activities across the whole-of-economy. FEPO focuses on the \'third stage\' of strategic planning after sense-making and strategy-making; and the officer thus stewards efforts across the Government to transform Singapore\'s economy, spur economic growth, and create good jobs for Singaporeans.

What you will be working on:

Some of the key roles played by the officer are as follows: \xe2\x80\xa2 As Secretariat to key economic forums such as the Future Economy Council, maintain oversight of and coordinate the development, communication, and implementation of the ITMs across a wide variety of sectors, to address external trends and opportunities (e.g. resilience, digitalisation, and sustainability), and position Singapore and Singaporeans well for the next bound of economic growth. \xe2\x80\xa2 Develop whole-of-economy processes and structures to monitor the progress and outcomes of Singapore economic strategies, to ensure accountability and ownership. \xe2\x80\xa2 Engage and collaborate with stakeholders across the public and private sectors (e.g. industry and business leaders, trade association and chambers, and unions) to glean diverse perspectives on the key shifts affecting Singapore\'s economic operating environment and its implications, and in so doing, support the Government\'s review of economic strategies and policies. \xe2\x80\xa2 Galvanise government agencies to better involve the private sector in co-creating economic strategies and ideas, through private-public collaborative tools such as the Industry Transformation Maps (ITMs) and the Alliances for Action. \xe2\x80\xa2 Govern and facilitate the prudent use of budget and manpower resources to support Singapore\'s economic proposals and programmes. This is done through the design and review of strategic resource allocation frameworks and balancing across whole-of-economy needs.
