[What the role is]
This is a 2-year contract position as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (Arts, Culture, Heritage, Technology & Entrepreneurship) in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
[What you will be working on]
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Curriculum development, course delivery (both face-to-face and online) and project supervision for youth and adult learners in the following areas:
Exhibition Management
Gallery Management
Business Development and Entrepreneurship in the Arts
The Arts and Technology
Visual Arts
Technology for Learning
Lead and identify new opportunities, initiatives and collaborations with the industry, institutes of higher learning & related agencies
Supervise students during internships
Be up to date with the latest developments in the arts sector in the areas of technology, visual arts and entrepreneurship
Manage administrative work related to teaching and assigned projects
[What we are looking for]
Relevant tertiary qualification in Arts Management, Business, Humanities, Social Sciences or equivalent
Relevant experience and a keen interest in the visual arts, particularly in the areas of exhibition or gallery management
An agile team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
Good Project/time management and attention to detail
Candidates should have prior experience in visual arts, arts and culture, entrepreneurship, and information technology (IT) or a related discipline. Competent to develop, teach and provide leadership in the following areas:
Exhibition Management
Creative Entrepreneurship
IT Applications
Academic Writing & Presentation
Workplace Communication
Critical Thinking
