Department Oversight: Supervise service department performance, ensuring alignment with sales and profitability goals. Monitor and manage forecasts, budgets, and daily service revenue to meet financial targets.
Asset Management: Optimize the management of rental assets and service costs, ensure profitability of contracts, and recover costs associated with rental truck mishandling.
Team Leadership: Develop and manage the service team, using performance evaluations and training to foster growth and adherence to company policies, including handling disciplinary issues.
Safety Management: Enforce safety protocols, participate in safety audits, and allocate resources for safety training. Lead by example to maintain a safe work environment.
Customer Relations: Enhance customer satisfaction by addressing and resolving complaints promptly, and building strong, long-term relationships.
Employee Relations: Maintain effective communication with employees and union representatives, and manage consultations related to departmental agreements and employee issues.
Recruitment and Staffing: Create and implement staffing plans, conduct interviews, and oversee the recruitment process to fill vacancies efficiently.
Operational Efficiency: Manage departmental costs, including those for service vans and rental fleets, and ensure timely recovery of debts and effective job completion.
The Talent
Holds a Diploma or Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
Proven experience leading teams and managing Profit & Loss responsibilities.
Background in the Industrial/Capital Equipment sector with a track record in a similar role.
Experience managing field-based employees with strong mechanical and technical knowledge in a service environment.
Prior experience in a service environment and knowledge of AS400 system will be advantageous
