Key Responsibilities and Duties





A Site Supervisor's daily tasks are varied and crucial for the successful completion of construction projects. These responsibilities generally include:





Supervising construction workers and subcontractors, ensuring they perform tasks correctly and promptly. Planning daily work schedules, project tasks, and resource allocation to ensure project timelines are met. Reviewing construction plans and specifications to maintain accuracy and quality of the work performed. Conducting regular site inspections to enforce adherence to safety and building regulations. Training new team members on operational protocols and safety procedures. Communicating effectively with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders about progress and any issues on site. Problem-solving on-site issues and making quick decisions to prevent project delays. Maintaining detailed records of construction processes, worker attendance, and project costs.

Education and Certification Requirements





A high school diploma or equivalent; however, some employers may require post-secondary education in construction management, civil engineering, or related fields. Significant experience in construction, often requiring at least 3-5 years in a supervisory role. Knowledge of building codes and legal regulations surrounding the construction industry. Proficiency in handling, operating, and maintaining construction equipment and tools. Strong leadership and communication skills. * Additional certifications in project management, like PMP or CAPM, can be advantageous.
