Job Description

Job Purpose

The aim of the Executive / Senior Engineer is to act as key support to Safety & Quality (SQ) Office in all aspects of implementing, maintaining and continuously improving the safety and quality standard. The Executive / Senior Engineer will also provide response to incidents/WSH accidents and conduct independent investigation when required.

Responsibilities

  • Support Branch Manager in delivering the SQ Office objectives and work plan.
  • Plan and conduct Compliance audit / inspections.
  • Response to incidents and WSH accidents and conduct investigations when required.
  • Analyse results from audits, inspections or Investigations and provide regular update to management.
  • Conduct regular review of safety or quality related documents and relevant policies.
  • Promote safety and quality education and awareness across various functions by organising safety & quality forums, engagement sessions or events.
  • Perform secretariat role including preparation of presentation materials for safety and quality related meetings.
  • Any other related task assigned by reporting officer.
Qualifications & Work Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or management discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Safety or Quality Assurance roles.
  • Experience in operations & maintenance industrial environment or railway industry is preferred.
  • Experience in ISO 9001 / ISO14001 / ISO45001 Internal Auditor is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Safety and Quality Management System.
Skills

Technical Skill
  • Certified Q&HSE auditor is advantageous.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) is advantageous
  • Good audit / inspection and investigation report writing skills
  • Familiar with continuous improvement tools such as Kaizen is advantageous
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Generic Skill
  • Strong communication skills and command of English language in Policy and Procedure writing.
  • Great interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all levels of staff.
  • Strong curiosity to investigate and logical thinking.
