Keysight NSS provides testing, visibility, and security solutions to strengthen networks and cloud environments for enterprises, service providers, and network equipment manufacturers. Position Overview The Systems Engineer will be a key team member in Keysight Sales team. This position will work closely with the assigned Regional Sales Manager by assisting with pre-sales opportunities by providing technical leadership and support. The successful candidate will be a skilled engineer that is able to assess customer needs and facilitate solutions unique to their business.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Must be hungry to over achieve goal, provide high level of communication, impeccable follow up, excellent coordination, and outstanding teamwork to achieve team quota goals for the territory.
  • Effectively work as a team with the Regional Sales Manager to architect the solution (create Bill of Materials and Visio Drawings) and ensure that it leverages Keysight NSS feature sets and fits into the overall customer architecture and aligns with their business requirements to win opportunities. Experience using Challenger Sales Model a huge plus!
  • Drive effective product and solution demos for customers as needed.
  • Conduct and successfully complete Proof of Concept (POC) efforts while engaging customers, channel and tech partners, while managing demo gear to and from the customer.
  • Assisting channel partners to identify, qualify and close pre-sales opportunities.
  • Providing technical thought leadership and working closely with the Regional Sales Manager to coordinate efforts between partners, customer and internal teams (Product Management, Support, and Engineering).
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with technical aptitude to deliver powerful, succinct, convincing, and customer-focused presentations at all levels of an organization from engineer to C-Level.
  • Ability to lead network architecture, security, and cloud discussion and solution design.
  • Proactively and effectively identify customer needs, understand business issues and drivers behind specific requests.
  • Responding timely to technical pre-sales inquiries, requests for information, requests for proposals
  • Delivering training for channel partners and customers as needed.
  • Develop and maintain channel and technical partner relationships. Experience working with channel and technical partners preferred.


Job Qualifications


  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work
  • 5+ years pre-sales experience working with channel partners and customers directly, preferably for networking or software companies
  • Detailed understanding of data communications concepts, including on-premise, virtual, and cloud.
  • Strong knowledge of switching/routing concept and application protocols, including strong understanding of TCP/IP and Layer 2-7 concepts and protocols
  • Understanding of virtualization platforms such as VMware and OpenStack.
  • Working knowledge of public clouds (AWS, Azure, Google).
  • Familiarity with APM/NPM systems and network analyzers.
  • Knowledge of SSL encryption and decryption.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Systems Security / Network Security / Cloud Security
  • API and/or scripting experience a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills: written and verbal. Ability to effectively present to various audiences using MS Teams.
  • Able to work independently but also in a matrix team environment
Preferred Experience Enterprise data center networking and troubleshooting with tools from Cisco, FireEye, VMware, Viavi, A10, NetScout, Wireshark, CA, Extrahop, Riverbed, etc.
Enterprise Security knowledge relating to IDS, IPS, NGFW, Proxy, Threat hunting, Cyber Security, Threat Intelligence
Network enterprise application performance testing similar to Ixia, BreakingPoint, Spirent
