Sommelier, Michelin *** Restaurant

Responsibilities:

  • Create and update the wine list in coordination with chefs and the Food and Beverage Manager
  • Collaborate with Chefs and the Food and Beverage Manager when making selections
  • Create food and wine pairings for the menu
  • Recommend wines based on guest's personal tastes and food choices
  • Inform guests about different varieties of wines and prices
  • Overseeing the serving and storage of wine and training the waitstaff on the wine selection
  • Ensure wines are served at the right temperature and within the proper glassware
  • Make sure opened bottles are properly stored to maintain strong taste
  • Comply with health and safety regulations

Requirements:
  • Certification as a sommelier or a degree in hospitality is beneficial
  • Experience as a Sommelier, Wine Steward/Stewardess or similar role
  • An understanding of the wine making process
  • Familiarity with vineyards winemaking processes
  • Availability to work during opening hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Good communication skills
