Position Summary: Reporting to the Vice President of Global Sales MSD, this Senior Director of Sales is the APJ Regional Leader responsible for our Life Science, Pharma, Material Science, Battery and Semiconductor business in Australia & New Zealand (ANZ), India, Japan, Korea, SEA, and Taiwan. They will lead the regional organization in commercial strategies & financial P&L management for sustainable business growth.

Critical thinking, commercial & financial execution, market & technology knowledge, and a track record in leading and developing complementary teams will be critical skills for success.

As industry innovator, market/technology leader and a total solution provider you will be instrumental in developing and cultivating critical executive level B2B customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand diverse customer segments and business cultures, develop market specific growth strategies that realize both customer satisfaction and our business aspirations.
  • Build ethical teams that understand the balance between commercial success and long-term customer relationships.
  • Be responsible for your team\xe2\x80\x99s results and demand accountability from your team.
  • Partner with your matrix organizations to increase the outstanding value each group provides.
  • Develop and nurture C-Suite level B2B relationships & trust with our key customers.
  • Lead your organization to deliver a P&L with profitable sustainable growth.
  • Anticipate business threats & opportunities and partner with the BU leaders to deliver compelling differentiated value propositions.
  • Lead by example and bring a strong focus on team development.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in science or engineering; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of eight years proven experience of business strategy, execution and P&L management experience.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of sales experience, demonstrated ability in sales management role.
  • Understands how to discover and sell differentiated value of complex, high value capital equipment.
  • Ability to optimally lead, influence, and connect with diverse audiences.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Sales \xe2\x80\x93 Results oriented and passion for sales success. Thinking strategically and laterally to optimize opportunities and market potential.
  • Financial and Business management - Experienced running a sophisticated P&L and delivering outstanding forecasts and results.
  • Planning and Organizing \xe2\x80\x93 Prioritize to ensure the most impactful projects are implemented on time. Time & project management skills, effective use of resources and systems.
  • Partnership \xe2\x80\x93 Participative and collaborative management and operational work style enabling one to work effectively across functional groups.
  • Customer Relationship Builder \xe2\x80\x93 Ability to think and implement from a customer-centric perspective, to develop strong customer relationships.
  • English is a must, local APJ language skills preferred.
  • Flexibility in global travel.
