Job DGlobalFoundries is seeking a highly motivated engineer to join our Frame Definition and System team to develop automation that enables rapid, high quality new product introduction in our worldwide semiconductor fabs. Position is based in Singapore. The Frame Definition and System team, reside within the Tapeout organization, has peer teams located in US and Germany. This role will develop Frames bordering internal or client supplied chip designs to support the generation of semiconductor testsite and product masks for Fab 1 (Dresden, Saxony) & SGP Fabs (Singapore) & Fab 8 (Malta, NY) advanced technology development. The successful candidate would be coordinating specifications and verification for Frame structures and placement requirements across multi teams for frame structure generation, applying structured problem solving, Manufacturing Intelligence and Automation to overcome challenges.

• Lead the engagement with Technology Development, Process Integration, Patterning, Metrology, Photolithography, Characterization, Data Preparation, Design Services, and Mask House teams, to generate specifications for optical and electrical structures as well as an overall frame structure.
• Aggregate the requirements for the robust placement of all optical and electrical content within the technology Frame.
• Lead the verification of, as well as be accountable for, the quality of the optical and electrical designs as well as frame structure. Coordinate with the specification owners to secure Waiver Review Board (WRB) approval for Design Rule Checking (DRC) violations.
• Individually perform as well as lead others on the customization or validation of software code and layout tools used to generate reticle level designs, documentation and numerical files that drive automation within globally located Fabs or Mask Houses.
• Lead the planning, management and communication of project schedules. Also, insure technical and resource dependencies are closed with peer organizations and clients.
• Creates numerical representations and documentation of the Frame for use during wafer manufacturing or post wafer operations by our Foundry clients. Optimized wafer layout for fab and client productivity.
• Programs, tests and supports the Frame generation infrastructure to ensure high availability and quality operation is sustained during development as well as production manufacturing.
• Primary Frame team interface amongst broader development teams and worldwide clients.
• Participate in meetings with peer Frame teams located in the US, Germany, India and Singapore.
• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Required Qualifications :

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline in STEM with 5 years of relevant experience.
• Alternatively, M.S. with 4 years of experience or PhD. with 2 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline in STEM.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in semiconductor industry inclusive of design, tapeout, new product introduction and semiconductor fab setup with knowledge in related areas such as mask data preparation, in-line metrology, reticle construction and manufacturing, testchips, reticle frame building, OPC or mask manufacturing.
• Experience in software engineering (preferred languages are Java, Perl, Python), shell scripting on a Linux platform and relational database experience (SQL).
• Experience with VLSI EDA tool(s) such as Cadence Virtuoso, KLayout or Calibre DESIGNrev.
• Knowledge of Cadence MaskCompose or similar software package.
