Plans, conducts, and directs the analysis of business problems to be solved with automated systems.
Install, update, and maintain IT Qorvo infrastructure such is Clients, Servers, and Network equipment.
Install, improve, monitor and overview of our virtual environment.
Assists in the installation, implementation, and upgrades of internal systems. May maintain a tracking system for usage evaluation. Maintains an inventory of all equipment, hardware, software, and supplies. Troubleshoots, maintains, and monitors, external and internal hard drives, printers, plotters, and scanners. Note: May be internal and external client-focused for company-hosted web-enabled solutions.
Performs the installation, repair and preventative maintenance of personal computer and related systems. Assists in determining suitable software to meet user requirements. Troubleshoots software and hardware failures and identifies network problems when they relate to personal (desktop or laptop) computers. May assist Network Administrator. Note: May be internal and external client-focused for company-hosted web-enabled solutions.
Reporting to the IT Manager Europe, the SR IT Administrator must be experienced with working multi-discipline teams, with a proven track record of delivering solutions and providing excellent customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities
Seek ways to leverage emerging technology that will allow Qorvo to increase productivity while reducing hardware and software acquisition costs
Analyze, document, plan, and coordinate application and operating system implementations, updates, and upgrades
Diagnose and resolve unique, nonrecurring problems associated with application software and operating systems, determine the source of problems and classify their level, priority and nature
Configure, deploy, maintain, troubleshoot, and support computer workstations, laptops, printers, mobile devices, phones and other computer and telecommunications equipment
Install and support PC, laptop, tablet and mobile hardware and software
Install and maintain highly available infrastructure for a virtualized environment enterprise
Install, maintain, and monitor Server infrastructure
Deploy virtual machines and automate processes
Allocate storage as required for virtualized environments
Plan and execute infrastructure projects within the APAC area
Work closely with other admins on new implementations as well as maintaining the current environments
Provide additional support when necessary for backup and storage functions
Participates in an on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 coverage of critical systems
Create alternative methods of completing tasks, correcting user errors and system inconsistencies to improve the desktop team function
Document procedures, standards, best practices configurations, settings, installation sequences, back-out instructions, and risk mitigation
Support a program of change to meet business needs
Develop positive working relationships with a wide range of internal and external people
Education/Experience
Requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience. Requires engineering degree for engineering functions. At this level, post-graduate coursework may be desirable.
Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
Skills
Proven track record in identifying and resolving problems, risks, and issues
Experience with successfully implementing enterprise-class tools is desired
Familiarity with VMWare and SAN management and concepts
Good knowledge and experienced with HP servers and hardware infrastructure
Practice and understanding of complex network environments (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN),
preferred Cisco
Must be self-motivated
Competent and proficient understanding of various hardware and software platforms including desktop operating systems
Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Flexible during times of change
Strong interpersonal skills: persuasive, encouraging, and motivating
Ability to influence decision makers without disrupting day to day operations or protocols
Strong written and oral communication skills
