Job Requirements: Minimum 8 years of experience on Linux/VMware administration and tech support. Perform system administration, support and maintenance of IT systems Monitor the performance and availability of the system components in production and test environments Setup new physical servers, installation and configuration of Unix OS and related services Plan, manage and install patches for OS, security and other software according to patch management process Work with Development, Testing, Application Maintenance, Incident and Problem Management teams to implement new changes in production, install new releases of existing applications and troubleshoot issues across all Production & Non-Production environments. To design, install, and administer virtualisation (VMware and Hyper-V) product Advanced proficiency with vSphere, vSAN, Horizon and other VMware products and platforms. Excellent problem-solvers who can determine the main source of product issues and provide quick and effective solutions. Must have hands on knowledge on Horizon VDI Pool image creation and compose Installation and configuration of stand-alone and blade servers [DELL hardware preferred]. Perform firmware upgrades / new ESX environment setups. Ongoing support of VMware and windows environment by resolving the escalated issues. Identify and implement the rectified operational issues. VMware Project management experience is preferred. Qualification and Skill Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology. Proven experience with administrating 24/7 business critical systems in the following operating systems, in both physical and virtualized servers: RHEL, CentOS, SUSE Experience in installing, configuring, tuning, upgrading, managing and administration Unix operating systems Experience in implementation of Volume Management tools: Veritas Storage Foundation, Red Hat LVM, Red Hat GFS administration Experience in implementation of High Availability software: Veritas Cluster, Red Hat Cluster and Pacemaker Experience in Installation, configuration and administration of Web Servers including Apache web server, Tomcat and Nginx Experience in implementation and administration of Software based load balancer including Red Hat HA-Proxy Strong in scripting and programming using either Shell, Perl or Python Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills/experience (TCP/IP, DNS, Load balancing, HA Proxy, HTTP, SSL) with a strong knack for understanding IP network behavior Knowledge of popular operating systems, software applications, and remote connection systems. Ability to solve VMware related issues. Ability to work after office hours when necessary. Excellent interpersonal skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Provide 24/7 standby support
