Job Purpose: Ensure the overall effective performance of WHSmith store/s. :
To carry out and ensuring the CAG 8-star standard for customer service is implemented
Loss Prevention and Reduce the Risk, eg. Keep high priced items in well supervised areas and Be aware and ensure staff are aware of blind spots in the store
Investigate cash and stock discrepancies
Ensure the shop are well maintained and kept clean at all times, particularly at change of shifts or close of shop.
Ensure all relevant documents (accounts/warehouse) are sent to the respective office /warehouse
Produce rosters, ensuring they are displayed giving sufficient notice and maintain budgeted man-hours levels
Ensure adequate rotation of shifts for all staff
To deal with any staff grievances as they arise or refer them to the Operations Manager or HR Executive at head office
Ensure the shop is free of Fire & Safety hazards and staff are aware of Fire & Safety procedures and policy
Maintain adequate stock levels at all times, particularly bestselling items
To ensure staff have an understanding of planograms , pricing and each vendor\xe2\x80\x99s returns procedures if applicable to that particular store
Ensure all non-scanning items are recorded duly and submitted to Operations Manager and Buyers
Ensure all stock is priced at the correct price, using the correct labels
Ensure the correct good receive process for both Direct Delivery supplier and warehouse are carried out
Key Performance Indicators:
Monthly sales results against budgeted forecasts
Monthly man hours are utilized against budgeted man-hours forecasts
Regular store audits
Mystery shopper score based on customer service
Annual stock-take results
Experience Required:
Must be able to work in shifts. Minimum working hour is 44 hours per week, however, it is expected that you work additional hours to cover the needs of the business. You will be required to be contactable should operational or staffing issues arise when not on shift
Exposure to the news agency and book publishing industry - desirable
Customer focused and Hands on approach
Employee management and development ability and experience
Good command of MS Office
Good in Analytical skills and leadership skills
