About Our Client


Our client is a fast-growing global commodities price reporting, information and events business. They serve markets and commodities such as metals, minerals and forest-products. Historically a news-led subscription business, their strategy is to evolve the operation into a pricing-led data business. They have strong teams in Singapore covering the APAC market, and are expanding their Account Management team, looking for a Strategic Account Manager to look after their Metals Price reporting products (subscription) in Japan.


  • Meets and exceeds revenue targets targeting existing accounts
  • Employs consultative sales techniques to manage renewals, generate new opportunities and drive growth
  • Increases sales of new and non-benchmark services to new and existing users, divisions and locations
  • Grows revenue but with a focus on retention of existing business
  • Create a sales plan for pool for the short-term and long-term
  • Develop and regularly updates comprehensive customer-centric account sales strategy
  • Establishes and maintains a good rapport with senior contacts (C-Level) across key divisions and regions and works as a trusted advisor to clients
  • Conducts high-level customer-facing presentations and new product development discussions
  • Understands the dynamics and nuances of a regulated markets
  • Leads and drives benchmark penetration and price adoption
  • Attends conferences within territory and represents the company, brand and product offering


The Successful Applicant


  • At least 3 years of experience in Account Management, growing existing accounts
  • Fluent in Japanese to reply emails/calls and manage product demonstration to Japanese Customers that are not able to communicate in English. This role is 80% focusing on Japan territory, therefore fluency in key.
  • Experienced in managing complex customers
  • Proven ability to deliver accurate forecasting and pipeline management
  • Strong track-record of using CRM and data to improve sales performance (Salesforce)
  • Commodity market and data licensing experience is a plus
