Sub-Editor, The Straits Times

As a sub-editor, you work fast and stay calm under pressure. You are willing to be rostered to work on shifts, weekends and public holidays. The payoff? The adrenaline rush from getting a ringside view as news events unfurl.

Job Requirements

Have a strong command of English, meticulous, an eye for accuracy and detail.

Have a passion for news and a keen awareness of current affairs.

Able to work independently while remaining a good team player.

Have excellent editing and fact-checking skills.

Demonstrate the ability to work efficiently and without errors in a fast-paced environment.

Be passionate about the details of how content is presented in print and online to make it more engaging for audiences.

Familiar with Search Engine Optimisation, Internet-friendly headlines and social media platforms.
