Oversees and manages designated Asia region supplier operations:
1. Performing supplier performance monitoring and executes supplier improvement plans to maintain supplier performance at a desired level
2. Helps supplier demonstrate operational excellence in safety, quality, delivery, and organizational development
3. Manages work transfers into the Asia region to ensure project goals are achieved
4. Has overall ownership of all activities at the supplier. Serves as a liaison to ensure proper coordination with all related stakeholders
5. Drive engagement and cross-functional collaboration between all internal and external stakeholders
6. Establish partnerships at all levels within the supplier, emphasizing: collaboration, clear expectations, common goals, trust and transparency
7. Ensure technical reviews are supported with the appropriate knowledge and experience to provide a thorough evaluation of the supplier\xe2\x80\x99s manufacturing capabilities
8. Performs supplier rate readiness assessments to ensure future rate support with sufficient capacity, resources, manpower and tooling allocation
9. Performs risk management and identifies operational risks that could affect future supplier performance
10. Steer supplier culture from reactive to proactive, managing risks before they become issues
11. Jointly develop recovery plans with supplier, then implement operating rhythm and metrics to hold supplier and stakeholders accountable for performance to plan
12. Deploys and monitors production tracking tools such as material LOBs and Waterfall Charts
13. Ensure suppliers are managing capacity, demand and resource plans that demonstrate rate readiness
14. Develops effective shop floor visuals and efficient material flow in the value stream
15. Helps supplier develop and refine manufacturing and business processes to achieve required output
16. Champions change through active support of continuous improvement tools and processes
17. Recurring and ad hoc reporting of information and metrics to internal stakeholders
18. Expected job related travel of at least 50%.
Requirements:
1. Position requires a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, Materials Science or related engineering discipline and 3+ years\' experience or a Masters Degree with 2+ years of experience.
2. Experience in Aerospace Manufacturing for CNC Machining, Metal Forming and Assembly processes is required.
3. Knowledge of other metal fabrication processes (forging, welding, casting, etc) would be an advantage.
4. Knowledge of commercial aircraft Composite products would also be added advantage.
5. Project management experience is an advantage.
6. Basic knowledge of CATIA V5.
7. Able to work independently with good project management skills.
8. Good technical writing skills with proficiency in using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
9. Experience in a quality / manufacturing / production engineering role with a strong mechanical engineering and problem-solving skill set.
10. Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing and/or Lean Product Development environment preferred
