As a Sustainable Sourcing Program Manager at Micron Technology, Inc. you will support Micron’s global Supplier’ Environmental Sustainability programs and objectives. You will work with a cross functional team to meet deliverables, establish processes, and achieve deadlines. The Sustainable Sourcing Program Manager is responsible for developing and growing Micron’s global supplier-facing Scope 3 environmental sustainability programs, including CDP reporting requirements, GHG reduction initiatives, water conservation, waste reduction, and general supply chain initiatives to reduce environmental impact. In this role you will also be responsible for developing sustainable sourcing analytics strategies and handling program data.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive multi-year strategies that enable the delivery of the supplier sustainability program and associated goals to reduce environmental impact. The strategy will incorporate customer requirements and business objectives in support of Micron’s long-term sustainability goals.
  • Serve as Micron’s point of contact for supplier environmental sustainability efforts. This includes public and private discussions with suppliers, partners, Micron leadership, and customers.
  • Support the development and implementation of multi-year industry-leading supplier sustainability processes and practices related to global supplier development.
  • Ensure standard methodologies in supply chain environmental sustainability practices are applied to the Micron sourcing strategy.

Data Analytics

  • Support Supplier data collection, validation, and ongoing management
  • Create dashboards to measure performance against Supplier’ Sustainability goals and plans.
  • Define supply chain sustainability analytics strategies and drive continuous improvement in analytical models and reporting dashboards covering technical, economic, and supply chain environmental evaluations.
  • Define and implement Supplier’ evaluation methodologies to help guide procurement teams in sustainability sourcing activities; Lead internal teams to deliver necessary analytics solutions.

Subject Matter Expert

  • Monitor and advise Micron on local, regional, or country level government initiatives and legislation for supply chain visibility requirements.
  • Act as a subject matter authority on global supply chain frameworks, standards, and requirements related to supply chain environmental sustainability.
  • Conduct research through external resources on specific industry trends, regulation, markets, technologies, and policies; develop and continuously update knowledge hubs and databases.
  • Conduct sustainability or environment-related risk assessments.
  • Own relationships with 3rd party suppliers who support the supplier sustainability goals.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of how environmental sustainability fits into Micron’s other areas of responsible sourcing, including diversity, labor, ethics, RBA, responsible minerals, and more.
  • Define and implement a Supplier Climate Risk Management program. To include supply chain issues for water, rising temperatures, rising sea levels, and regulatory changes.

Project Management

  • Create and maintain project plans, program policies, and process documentation.
  • Develop and implement communication plans for internal and external audiences.
  • Lead and develop training material and lead related activities to promote supplier’ sustainability initiatives both internally and externally.
  • Support incremental and large-scale process improvement efforts to integrate supplier Sustainability initiatives into existing business processes.
  • Define, design, modify and implement Global Supplier Sustainability business systems and processes.
  • Use metrics to drive continuous improvement activities.

Internal & External Partnership

  • Drive industry alignment through external partnership development and participation in international standards organizations
  • Support supplier development activities and drive partnerships with national, local, and international groups
  • Partners effectively with sourcing managers to influence sustainability actions with suppliers.
  • Define and implement indicators to measure supplier performance in environmental sustainability.
  • Maintain scoring metrics in supplier’ performance scorecards, collaborate on action plans and drive improvements.
  • Develop and maintain positive collaboration with internal partners to build consensus and advance action on goals.
  • Report out on supply chain sustainability program objectives, progress, and status to various levels of leadership.

Experience

  • Experience in hi-tech manufacturing supply chain, procurement, and operations
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier engagement and partnership
  • Experience in Supply Chain risk management
  • Negotiations with internal and external partners
  • Experience in working with suppliers to develop a coordinated environment to drive long term improvements
  • Experience with responsible sourcing, including RBA, diversity, conflict minerals, and other sustainability related areas
  • Experience with developing and implementing a Scope 3 sustainability program

Qualifications

  • Strong business skills
  • Strong data governance acumen and expertise bringing data elements together to drive results.
  • Familiarity with global/country specific Supplier Sustainability initiatives
  • Accomplishment of successful program deployments
  • Exceptional project management skills and the ability to structure and lead multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Outstanding communicator with excellent presentation and strong written and oral communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead without positional authority.
  • Self-motivation with the ability to consistently achieve desired results.
  • Ability to collaborate with executives and communicate complex concepts in straightforward business terms at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability and willingness to travel, both domestic and international, as needed to support job scope.
  • A passion for sustainability and responsible sourcing
  • Understanding of responsible sourcing and environmental sustainability frameworks and experience conducting gap analyses and developing action plans
  • Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to thrive in a team-based environment that is often ambiguous and rapidly changing.
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus and prioritize action and results.
  • Strong public speaking capability - communicating ideas and having open discussions.
