Systems Engineer (it Operations)
Job Description
As a System Engineer, you will maintain servers, infrastructure, software, and virtual and cloud systems. You will perform tasks such as operating system upgrades, patch applications, firmware upgrades, hardware upgrades, and other troubleshooting tasks. You will also work with the user to arrange and schedule the patching exercise, as well as document supporting policies, processes, and procedures within the areas of responsibility. As part of your responsibilities, you will gain enough technical domain knowledge to assist in ad hoc task and small projects related to the systems you are supporting.
Requirements
- Possess a Diploma or Degree in IT, Computer Engineering or equivalent
- Knowledge in Microsoft systems, Unix & Linux and cloud platforms - Azure
- Experience in VMware, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Knowledge & understanding of backup and DR systems
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues
- Experience working with monitoring systems
- Effective troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, motivated and a team player
