Tax Analyst (9 Months Contract)

Job Description






For candidates who are interested to broaden their outlook in tax, there will also be opportunities to work on tax compliance, research and / or advisory projects for countries beyond Asia Pacific and Oceania, as part of the Global Tax team.
Responsibilities

  • Prepare Federal, State and/or City tax computations and returns:
  • Assist with the preparation and/or review of tax work papers and returns for DFS companies located in Asia Pacific and/ or Oceania (possibilities for countries beyond Asia Pacific and/ or Oceania).
  • Prepare or review estimated income tax payments.
  • Prepare or review quarterly and annual information returns.
  • Maintain and update the tax compliance calendar.
  • Review tax depreciation treatment for fixed assets purposes.
  • Review withholding tax obligations, where applicable.
  • Assist with transfer pricing documentation in Asia Pacific and / or Oceania, including working with the transfer pricing specialist and / or local country teams to gather transfer pricing information and/or assist with preparing for transfer pricing reviews.
  • Prepare tax research on international tax issues, where required.
  • Assist with Federal, state and local tax audits of DFS companies.
  • Compile documentation and prepare analysis for responses to tax authority information requests.
  • Work with the local country teams or tax advisors to mitigate audit assessments.
  • Prepare amended tax filings to reflect audit results and carryforward adjustments.
  • Assist, support and lead on tax projects, both independently and as team member.
  • Assist with analysis and review of DFS\xe2\x80\x99 tax provisions and preparation of the Company\xe2\x80\x99s consolidated financial statement tax provision and tax footnote in accordance with local GAAP for the Asia Pacific and / or Oceania divisions.
  • Participate in digitalisation efforts of the tax team, where applicable.

Requirements:
  • At least an Accounting Degree from renowned college or university
  • 3-5 years experience with major accounting firm, large corporation or combination of both.
  • Strong analytical ability with excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Desire to work in a multi-national environment
  • Motivated self-starter who is able to handle multiple priorities, produce quality results and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in use of Excel, Word and tax preparation software.
  • Experience with BPC or SAP general ledger software is a plus.
