Description
As the Tax Manager, you will play a crucial role as a trusted consultant to the client. You will engage in cooperative efforts across the company to support our GAAP income tax reporting and tax compliance obligations within the company. This role will collaborate with the existing Tax Manager in our Singapore office, report directly to the VP of Tax, and establish strong partnerships with various teams within the company, such as accounting, finance, and legal, to lead a wide range of international tax and compliance projects.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to the client\'s international income tax reporting and compliance efforts, aligning with the Finance organization\'s ethical standards and in accordance with its goals and objectives.
Oversee financial reporting in accordance with local GAAP/IFRS and US GAAP, and assist in the preparation of international tax-related statutory reports.
Establish procedures for the quarterly and annual preparation and review of income tax provisions for international subsidiaries, including the disclosure of tax-related financial statements and documentation of uncertain tax positions.
Review foreign tax returns prepared by local tax service providers, collaborating with external tax advisors to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Support progress filings and regulatory audits related to the Economic Development Board (EDB).
Collaborate with external tax advisors on tax audits, corporate tax filings, and GST returns.
Identify and communicate tax requirements as part of change management, system enhancements, and automation solutions.
Develop and maintain robust internal control processes.
Coordinate with external financial statement auditors and tax advisors.
Engage in non-US tax compliance activities, including collaboration with regional finance and business leaders, as well as tax vendors and foreign accounting teams to meet compliance obligations.
Serve as a trusted advisor to regional finance and business team members.
Profile
Significant international tax expertise gained within a high-growth technology firm is a plus.
At least 8 years of relevant tax experience, acquired through work at accounting/legal firms and/or multinational corporations.
Comprehensive knowledge of international tax laws and principles, encompassing fundamental concepts such as income sourcing, expense apportionment & allocation, E&P, and foreign tax required for daily tax reporting.
Proficiency in international income tax compliance and income tax accounting for international operations.
Proven capacity for operational enhancement, with the ability to identify novel processes that enhance efficiency.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to articulate complex technical tax matters clearly to non-tax professionals and collaborate effectively across functional teams.
Adaptability to respond promptly to changes in tax regulations, including proposed modifications and shifts in the company\'s products and services.
Strong analytical thinking, organizational abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment to complete multiple tasks.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, demonstrating a sense of humor and respect.
Advanced degree or professional qualifications in tax, accounting, or law (CPA, JD, or Master\'s degree).
Experience working in a high-growth, rapidly scaling environment.
Proficiency with Excel, Tableau, Smartsheet, and Netsuite required.
