This role will be handling operational compliance and reporting with ad-hoc advisory. Geographic focus of this role is on all Sunseap geographies (except Vietnam and China).

Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Regional Tax Manager in the tax compliance of Sunseap Group within Sunseap geographies (except Vietnam and China). This includes review, managing and monitoring of all direct and indirect taxes (CIT, GST, WHT, etc.).
  • Monitor and control tax compliance, tax accounting and tax reporting activities within Sunseap geographies.
  • Build up internal controls and processes to support and improve the efficiency and accuracy of tax return filings.
  • To anticipate areas of change and bring forward ideas to influence and improve the tax compliance process.
  • Assist with the preparation of responses to Tax authorities\xe2\x80\x99 queries.
  • Handle and answer to information or reporting requirements from management.
  • Ensure that the financial information for tax in the internal and external reporting documentation processes is accurate and provides a true and fair representation of the assets and liabilities of the local entities.
  • Work collaboratively with business areas such as Finance, FP&A, Treasury, Corporate Development, Business development, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with Sunseap Group\xe2\x80\x99s Transfer Pricing policies; work collaboratively with business areas in the reinforcement of the Transfer Pricing policies.
  • Provide tax technical support and ad-hoc tax advisory to Business units\xe2\x80\x99 queries.
  • Evaluation of issues and advising on any tax-related issues (e.g., projects, suppliers and customers tax queries, reporting, compliance, tax planning, tax risk management).
  • Provide support to Group-wide initiatives aiming to achieve a sustainable effective tax rate (at a consolidated and country level).
  • Follow legislative changes and monitor their respective impact in the Group operations.
  • Review internal and external documents which contain any tax or potentially tax-relevant data or content.
  • Support and secure tax inputs in M&A projects of the Group.
  • Assist in the development of processes to improve coordination of inter-disciplinary teams to anticipate tax risks and opportunities for Sunseap business. Effectively leverage countries tax opportunities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Accountancy or equivalent
  • At least 9 years tax experience
  • Good knowledge of the Singapore tax System and international Tax
  • Able to translate technical tax issues into practical business solutions
  • Sound organizational skills and process driven mentally
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work concurrently on multiple projects
  • Innovative, self-motivated and detailed-oriented
