Background IFPI is the global trade body for the recording industry and works closely with our member record companies. We operate within a broad range of fields covering areas such as content protection and enforcement, data collection and analysis, global charts and certifications, litigation, legal policy, international trade, licensing, technology, and communications. IFPI\xe2\x80\x99s head office is in London, with additional offices in Brussels, Nairobi, Singapore, Abu Dhabi, Miami, and Beijing. Our membership across IFPI and its network of affiliated industry associations comprises some 8,000 major and independent record companies in over 70 countries. Role IFPI is looking for a technically astute individual, to train and develop into an expert in internet-based investigation and content protection work. The work will focus on, but not be limited to, the Southeast Asia region. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Content Protection Officer, based in Singapore, and will be part of the broader global team dedicated to safeguarding and enforcing the rights of IFPI\xe2\x80\x99s member record companies. It also entails working closely with other teams and departments within the organisation, including Legal, Investigations and Development. General Responsibilities The successful candidate will monitor, investigate, report and take action against copyright infringement occurring online. This work includes the following:

• Investigative work on web-based and mobile application-based activities.

• Data gathering and analysis, and preparation of technical reports on copyright infringing activities and operators.

• Providing content protection and enforcement support to law enforcement agencies, national groups, and member companies in the Asia region.

• Making written and oral presentations.

• Specific work includes the following:

o Implement and improve notice and action procedure and related operational issues, including automation of operational tasks. o Monitor piracy trends and produce piracy landscape reports. o Evidence collection to support disruptive, administrative, civil, and criminal action. Requirements The successful candidate must have:

• A Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field

• Proficient knowledge of:

o Internet-based protocols (e.g., HTTP, FTP, TCP/IP). o Internet-based markup language(s) and data interchange format(s) (e.g., HTML, JSON). o Common programming language(s) (e.g., Python, JavaScript, SQL). o Network infrastructure and communication. o Mobile application infrastructure.

• A keen eye for detail, with the ability to make connections and well-supported assessments in the course of investigations.

• Positive attitude and willingness to undertake varied tasks.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferable The following would be useful for the successful candidate to possess:

• Knowledge of network and mobile application infrastructure and communication.

• Experience in content protection and enforcement work in any creative industry.

• Experience in internet-based investigations.

• Keen interest in emerging technologies, social media, gaming, and the music industry.
