TECHNICAL MANAGER

About the job

We are looking for a technical expert based with a background in the Flour and Baking industry. You should be an excellent communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.

You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the R&D laboratory and provide guidance for new projects, products & ingredients. You should be aware of the latest trends and technologies to deliver innovative solutions to customers.

This role will be reporting to the Regional Technical Director and based in our Singapore office located in International Business Park (Jurong East MRT)

Your Role

This is a varied role for a person who enjoys challenges and leads technical support to customers and supports the sales team in projects.

The expectation of this individual is an accomplished flour application technical person with the capability to create or develop added value based on the customer\'s requirement.

  • To conduct products, and develop bread improvers, bakery premixes and ingredients for the baking industry.
  • To conduct pilot or commercial trials with customers to test enzyme application on wheat-based products.
  • Evaluation of the suitability of new products in the Asian market.
  • Proactively develop plans for new concepts and solutions, especially in the baking and biscuit-making industries.
  • Together with the business leads manage, support and drive projects by conducting discussions with customers and application trials
  • Work closely with distributors as well as direct key accounts to provide technical support
  • Support in the trade show, and customers\' technical presentations and actively participate in textured platform knowledge sharing
  • Lead, coach & guide the Product Stewardship team
  • 2 direct reports - Assistant and R&D Expert
Qualifications
  • Degree in Food Science/Technology.
  • Minimum 6 - 8 years of leadership experience in R&D roles for bakery premixes or bread improver formulation.
  • People management experience preferred
  • Must have hands-on experience in flour and bakery product development
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency with standard software tools such MS Office
  • Able to travel up to 20%
