Task and Responsibilities
- Lead the divisions core process and technology staff in maintaining and further developing technical solutions for Tialoc\xe2\x80\x99s customers
- Manage the process design development of proposals to develop suitable technical designs and strategies to implement optimised solutions
- Support the business development and sales departments in presenting process technology solutions to customers
- Lead, train and mentor process engineering staff
- Consult with the technical team in requirements gathering, design, development, installation, testing and commissioning
- Plan and manage development project\xe2\x80\x99s timetable and scheduling of related activities;
- Maintain and further develop Tialoc\xe2\x80\x99s portfolio of intellectual property
- Lead the innovation and development of new technical solutions working with Tialoc staff and external parties
- Compose and file new patent applications
- Manage the entire patent process including prosecution of pending applications, portfolio reviews, patent renewals and build good relationship with external counsels
- Conduct validity and non-infringement analyses, patent searching, third-party patent portfolio assessments, freedom to operate analyses and due diligence
- Monitor third-party patent applications and patents to identify potential threats/issues
- Review and endorse IP-related language in contracts on company\'s behalf
- Liaison with stakeholders such as regulators, national and international standard setters as appropriate
- Maintain relationships and support related trade associations and organisations
- Master or degree in engineering or equivalent
- At least 10 years of related engineering experience with 5 years in leading and managing a sizeable technical team
- Customer focused and team player with strengths in the areas of team building, leadership, communication, staff development, performance management and mentoring
- A strategic thinker who confidently solves highly complex problems
- Proficient in writing and presenting proposals and technical reports
- Excellent technical, organisational and project management skills
- Experience in waste management especially in hazardous waste
- Knowledge of research and development processes, patent laws with familiarity with key foreign jurisdictions is required
- Frequent travel within South East Asia countries
- Published on related subject matter in technical journals would be an advantage
