Job Description

UWCSEA East is looking for a part-time experienced Technician [Design & Technology] to join from October 2023.

Reporting to the Head of Design, the incumbent will provide support for the Design Technology Faculty. The working hours will be 35 hours scheduled over a 5 day work week.

Main Responsibilities

Carry out regular preventive maintenance of tools and equipment associated with plastics, timber, textiles and metals

Clean, organise and maintain safe, hygienic and tidy Design Technology workshops technical areas, corridor and storerooms

Store and sort tools, equipment and materials in each work space and ensure consumable items for lessons in workshops, storerooms and technical areas are adequately stocked at all times and notify HOF for low stock /replacement items

Work closely with a variety of departments to ensure the smooth running of administrative operations for the Design Technology Faculty

Assist in preparing displays and exhibition material and resources when required

Other ad-hoc administrative duties as and when necessary with team members

Person Specifications

• Minimum GCE \xe2\x80\x98O\xe2\x80\x99 Levels with relevant certifications
• At least 2 years of experience
• Able to work cohesively in a team-based environment as well as independently and demonstrate initiative
• Excellent English (written and spoken), interpersonal and organisational skills with the ability to multitask
• Keen learner who is able to adapt and work with minimum supervision
• Proficient in Mac platform and collaborative software such as google calendar, Google document and spreadsheet
• Must be friendly, approachable and willing to assist in problem-solving
