Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Test Technician to join the Starline Team in Tuas, Singapore. As a member of the Test Engineering team, the Test Engineering Technician position will support daily production testing of electromechanical assemblies and the implementation of automated manufacturing technologies through software and hardware system construction, validation, data collection, operator training, technical support, and maintenance.

What Will You Do?

\xc2\xb7 Maintain, upgrade, repair and troubleshoot production test system and automated manufacturing equipment

\xc2\xb7 Validate functionality of software and hardware systems prior to deployment or following updates under direction and guidance of Test Engineers

\xc2\xb7 Train team supervisors and operators on use of equipment

\xc2\xb7 Provide on-demand technical support through Production Technology Help Desk

• Respond to and troubleshoot all issues

• Elevate issues to engineers, as necessary

• Ensure all issues are addressed and closed

\xc2\xb7 Maintain test equipment inventory

• Maintain test equipment inventory database

• Maintain stock of test equipment required for new equipment builds

• Prepare ready-to-deploy spares for critical components

• Ensure that equipment requiring calibration is up to date

• Handle RMAs for equipment requiring repair

\xc2\xb7 Assist in creating technical documentation such as drawings, operations and maintenance manuals, installation instructions and work instructions

\xc2\xb7 Support maintenance of off-site test equipment located at Contract Manufacturers\xe2\x80\x99 facilities

\xc2\xb7 Assembly of test stations, fixtures, probes, and other custom-built equipment

\xc2\xb7 Assist Test Engineers, as needed

\xc2\xb7 Identify opportunities for new technologies and improvements

\xc2\xb7 Flexible schedule to support the night shift and international operations, as necessary

Qualifications

Education:

\xc2\xb7 Minimum Higher National ITE Certificate (Higher Nitec) or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or related field or equivalent years of experience

Experience:

\xc2\xb7 2 years in electrical/electronic testing or other relevant experience preferred

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

\xc2\xb7 Fluent in English language

\xc2\xb7 Exposure to manufacturing working environment would be preferable

\xc2\xb7 Understanding of high-voltage electrical safety practices

\xc2\xb7 Working knowledge of computers, including familiarity with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

\xc2\xb7 Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics

\xc2\xb7 Proficient use of hand tools and power tools

\xc2\xb7 Ability to interface with frontline production team members in a professional manner in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

\xc2\xb7 Able to create technical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams and operating instructions/manuals

\xc2\xb7 Clear, concise, and timely verbal and written skills

\xc2\xb7 Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in relation to electronics testing

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

\xc2\xb7 This position will regularly require exposure to manufacturing areas mandating the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and hearing protection.

\xc2\xb7 Regularly required to stand, walk, and communicate with others.

\xc2\xb7 Regularly required to assemble, interact with, and perform maintenance on complex electrical hardware and equipment

\xc2\xb7 Ability to sit for extended periods of time

\xc2\xb7 Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds

\xc2\xb7 Some travel may be required (up to 5%)
