Job Description

Housed within Metta Home for the Disabled, Metta Home Day Activity Centre (MHDAC) is a place where clients with intellectual disabilities pick up skills to help them better manage their own living, behavioural and emotional needs. More importantly, we provide an avenue for the clients to participate in activities outside of the centre through outings in the community. We regularly bring our clients out to places of interest and participate in community events. In doing so, we not only advocate for a more inclusive society but clients are also given the opportunity to enjoy new experiences.As a Training Officer, the candidate is responsible in the following areas:

• Cares for and ensures clients' personal hygiene and cleanliness
• Support clients in the maintenance/development of daily living skills and community living skills
• Support and trains clients in the maintenance/development of acceptable social and behavioural skills
• Work as part of multi-disciplinary team to implement individual training/care plan for clients
• Cooperate with caregivers in supporting client's development and progress
• Recommend and implement new programmes for client's benefit
• Attend and participate in agency events and fund raising activities when required.
• Any other tasks as assigned

Job Requirements

• Minimum Sec/ N/O levels and/or any related certificates in disability care.
• Experience in the Disability Care sector would be preferred
• Ability to work both independently and within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Hardworking, meticulous and responsible.
• Good communications/interpersonal skills
• This position requires quite a lot of hands-on and the candidate must be ready and willing to get dirty.
