We embrace unique perspectives and empower each person to grow through professional development, career training and mentoring programs.Our people are our most important asset, and we are very proud of the quality of our team members.Job Summary:As Underwriter/Senior Underwriter for Asia Pacific Healthcare Division based in Singapore, you are responsible for underwriting a complex book of Healthcare Liability business comprised of physicians, hospitals & clinics, allied health, paramedic professionals and general/public liability insurance in over 20 different countries and jurisdictions across Asia Pacific and the Middle East. You will be also empowered to introduce the best-in-class patient safety and risk management programmes to our insured doctors, hospitals and various other healthcare professionals. Our Medico-Legal Consultant, who is a clinical professor with 40 years of experiences in medicine and law, as well as our Healthcare Risk Manager, a senior nurse from the National Health Service in the UK, will support you in these initiatives. Reinforcing our market leading position with these efforts, you will be fulfilling your responsibilities of meeting projected profitability, GWP, and implementing marketing and servicing of existing and potential insureds.Job Duties:\xc2\xb7 Develop an agreed portfolio in order to maximise profitable revenue potentially from new and renewal business for Asia Pacific Healthcare.\xc2\xb7 Review allocated complex, specialist cases or scheme opportunities and deliver underwriting decisions in order to secure profitable business within agreed risk appetites.\xc2\xb7 Produce consistent gross and net underwriting profit.\xc2\xb7 Provide training and presentations, attend client meetings and create marketing activities to expand the distribution channels for the Healthcare Division.\xc2\xb7 Manage customer interactions in an efficient, courteous and timely manner to meet and exceed customer expectations.\xc2\xb7 Execute approved business plan to establish and develop a balanced and diverse book of business in accordance with underwriting guidelines.\xc2\xb7 Maintain underwriting files in an orderly manner and in accordance with the underwriting guidelines.\xc2\xb7 Work with Actuarial, Claims, Operations, Finance, IT and other AW departments in partnership.\xc2\xb7 Maintain high level of professionalism, integrity and trust.\xc2\xb7 Other duties as may be assigned.Essential Requirements:\xc2\xb7 Experience in an insurance role related to Professional/Financial lines or Healthcare - broking, underwriting or claims.\xc2\xb7 For a Senior Underwriter, a minimum of 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience.\xc2\xb7 For an Underwriter, a minimum of 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience is preferred but fresh university graduates are also welcome to apply.\xc2\xb7 Mature, motivated self-starter, with strong organizational skills and ability to function independently with limited resources.\xc2\xb7 Ability to work in conjunction with other functional departments.\xc2\xb7 Strong communication and interpersonal skills.\xc2\xb7 Ability to travel as required.About Allied WorldAllied World Assurance Company Holdings, GmbH, through its subsidiaries, is a global provider of insurance and reinsurance solutions.
