Vice President, Chemistry

We work at the interface of synthetic chemistry, chemical manufacturing, bioconjugation, chemical biology, and cell/molecular biology. We are currently seeking an outstanding individual to oversee and direct operations of our Chemistry division as Vice President. Key Responsibilities

• As a project leader, drive and direct all areas of chemistry operations including design, synthesis, production, and purification of customized nucleic acids, peptides, monomeric building blocks, and chemical linkers, as well as their chemical functionalization and conjugation.

• Serve as a scientific expert in synthesis and conjugation of nucleic acids, peptides, and small molecules with both internal and external partners and provide recommendations on synthetic and production strategies for all projects.

• Supervise and execute laboratory research, including synthesis, purification, and characterization of nucleic acids, peptides, and small molecules.

• Stay versed in literature review and patent strategies, and lead efforts to identify emerging trends in nucleic acid and peptide chemistry and therapeutics.

• Ensure timely execution of projects through careful planning and closely liaise with external partners and clients to expedite their research.

• Take active role in design and implementation of staff training programme.

• Ensure efficient interaction/communication across the division and provide regular updates on project status to the management.
  

• PhD in chemistry is required.

• Postdoctoral experience with an emphasis on synthetic organic chemistry, in particular nucleic acids and peptide chemistry, is required.

• At least 8 years of working experience in academic/industry setting focusing on nucleic acids and peptide chemistry with proven track record of project leadership is required.

• Expert knowledge of modern methods of nucleic acids and peptide synthesis and characterization is strongly preferred.

• Expertise in nucleic acids and peptide modification, functionalization and bioconjugation is strongly preferred.

• Strong track record of scientific publications and/or patent applications is preferred.

• Maintaining a very productive lab presence is required.
