My client is an iconic private capital investment platform that boasts a genuinely global reach and access to large scale capital that is supported by deep operational expertise. Globally, they have well over $250 billion in net asset and a diverse portfolio that they actively manage inhouse. They boast a creative and flexible investment mandate and a collaborative approach with portfolio companies that has seen the team successfully enter and execute an array of quality investments in the ANZ region. The platform already has over $1 billion deployed in Private Equity alone in the region with an extensive track record of investments and value creation in sectors ranging from healthcare, financial services, consumer and industrials. The team we are looking to hire a Vice President / Principal to join a their Private Equity team in their APAC headquarters in Singapore, with a focus on direct investments across Australia and New Zealand. The Vice President / Principal will be an integral part of the Private Capital team and will play a key role in identifying and evaluating potential investment opportunities, take a lead role in executing transactions and handling existing portfolio investments. The role will also be involved in designing and executing the team\xe2\x80\x99s broader APAC investment strategy alongside other investment groups in the firm to ensure the best market coverage. As the role has an ANZ focus, the successful individual will be a key representative of the firm locally, and will help drive broader business development initiatives.
Candidates will ideally have between ~8 \xe2\x80\x93 10 years of experience gained in blue chip financial services firms, with a preference for previous direct investment experience in private equity/special situations or other similar asset class. We will also consider those coming from investment banking that can demonstrate the potential to successfully pivot into a direct investment role. Clearly, the role will require someone with proven analytical and quantitative skills in the context of investing or transactions; as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills that will allow this individual to articulate sophisticated investment ideas and work well in a small and entrepreneurial team. As the role is based in Singapore but has a focus on Australia and New Zealand, the successful candidate should expect to regularly travel across the region as needed. As the role is based in Singapore, you will have access to a lower tax rate relative to Australia and there may be relocation assistance for the right candidate.
