Our client is a global food tech company headquartered in Singapore. Their flagship countertop-sized machine aims to democratise the dessert experience for homes, offices, and other businesses. Following their initial success, they have broadened their portfolio with a retail concept that takes dessert experience to a new level. Combining the artistry of dessert making with their own cutting-edge ideas, this unique retail outlet acts as a physical testament to their dedication to going beyond traditional hardware offerings to deliver remarkable dessert experiences.

They are seeking a VP of Engineering. The successful candidate will have the pivotal role of providing strategic leadership and technical expertise in the field of engineering and manufacturing. They will lead a team of engineers to develop high-quality hardware products and oversee the manufacturing process to ensure a smooth transition from prototypes to mass production, both locally and globally.

This position is also open to candidates who are willing to relocate to Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

Guiding, managing, and coordinating product and engineering workflows, including research, design, development, prototyping, and manufacturing.

Setting clear goals and objectives for the team, ensuring alignment with project milestones and deliverables.

Developing and maintaining strong relationships with manufacturing partners to facilitate efficient production processes.

Implementing quality control measures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Providing technical guidance to the team, assisting with complex problem-solving and troubleshooting.

Overseeing the transition of prototypes into mass production, coordinating with internal teams, manufacturers, and suppliers.

Analyzing existing products to identify areas for improvement and feeding these insights into the product development roadmap.

Co-creating innovative solutions to address problems faced by engineering and product teams.

Reporting key product metrics to management, including time to market, cost, and quality.

Collaborating with the CEO and CTO to develop and refine product and technology roadmaps.

Working with third-party consultants, manufacturers, and internal engineering teams to ensure delivery on time, cost, and quality targets.

Key Requirements

Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field.

Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in hardware engineering, product development, or a management role.

Knowledge and experience in the complete product development and management lifecycle, including design, process, test, and reliability.

Proficiency with project management tools and methodology.

Exceptional math, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

Background in product development in mechanical design or embedded systems is a plus.

The ability to work dynamically within a team, problem-solve across different domains of engineering and commercial sectors, and communicate complex technical issues clearly.

A driven and ambitious attitude, focused on achieving targets within set timelines and budget.
