Job Description


Temasek undertakes an ecosystem development approach to build new platforms and transform existing businesses for sustainable growth and value creation. This involves strong collaboration with various external stakeholders to enhance our network of partners and facilitate cooperation to catalyse the building of future growth sectors in Singapore.

In support of ecosystem development efforts, SG M- P is responsible for forging strategic partnerships and advancing Temasek\'s policy interests with government and other relevant stakeholders in Singapore. SG M- P works closely with investment/enterprise development teams to identify public policies that impact Temasek\'s business interests, engages key stakeholders including officials, regulators, and trade unions to advocate for our value proposition as well as promote collaboration in the building of new economy enterprises and ecosystems in Singapore.

Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing and providing an assessment of relevant public policies and their implications for Temasek\'s business interests. He/she will manage Temasek\'s public policy positions across various domain areas , and depending on the seniority, will lead teams or working groups of 2-5 members.

In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for stakeholder engagement strategies, as well as drive the execution and management of policy engagements in focus domain areas. He/she is responsible for fostering strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and translating policy engagements into tangible commercial outcomes to advance the progress of the Temasek ecosystem development projects.

He/she will also be responsible for the planning, organisation, and management of SG M P\'s various stakeholder engagement platforms and events , in support of the objective to expand and enhance our collaborations with key stakeholders in Singapore.

In this role, the candidate must be able to work effectively with various teams, including our Investment, Enterprise Development, and Portfolio Development Groups to represent and advocate the company\'s positions on a multitude of policy issues.

The successful candidate should possess a deep interest and ability to understand how politics, business, finance, sustainability, technology and innovation, workforce, as well as international relations, are interconnected. These are pertinent issues that have an impact on our projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Engage key policy stakeholders (including political office holders, government officials/regulators, and trade unions) who can/will influence Temasek\'s projects, particularly in the energy, sustainability, and digital space
  • D rive engagement strategies to reach out and build strategic relationships with key stakeholders to strengthen Temasek\'s network of partners
  • Track, monitor, and provide an assessment of strategic and policy issues (focusing on the areas of energy, sustainability, and digital)
  • Manage cross-cutting projects/issues involving multiple teams across the organisation
  • Formulate and execute plans to address strategic issues that have an impact on Temasek\'s business interests (e.g., political/regulatory issues relating to ecosystem building projects and industrial relations matters related to our portfolio companies in Singapore)
  • O rganis e and manage internal/external meetings, including the preparation of meeting briefs and presentations for senior management\'s reference
  • P lanning, o rgan ise, and managing engagement and networking platforms.
Requirements / Key Attributes
  • Degree in International Relations, Public Policy, Law, Business Management, Economics or a related field
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience working in government relations or public policy, with good knowledge of protocol management
  • Good policy network in Singapore, with a demonstrated ability to interact at senior corporate/political levels
  • Track record of effectively solving complex issues and delivering strong results
  • Keen interest in translating policy/regulatory engagements into tangible commercial outcomes
  • Exposure to strategy work within a government agency or corporate environment would be advantageous
  • Strong analytical, presentation (written and oral), and project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
