Role Context
Accounting for one third of our global revenue, APAC is the fastest growing region in the Wavemaker global network. Covering 16 countries, and 2,000 employees, the APAC CEO will be responsible for leading a clear focus on top and bottom-line growth, through organic and new business. Drive our global strategy to become the world\xe2\x80\x99s most wanted media network. This will be done by winning new business and fuelling growth on our existing clients and evolve our structure to deliver the best thinking and delivery for our clients in the most effective way. The role will need to inspire and attract the very best industry talent, working with local GroupM CEOs to ensure the relevant local strategies are in place and being delivered.
Role The role of the APAC CEO will, as part of the Global Leadership team help develop the Wavemaker strategy and deploy how we positively provoke growth for our clients and our people. The in-coming leader will also seek to attract, develop, and retain industry leading talent, driving a client centric organization and have a clear focus on growth of winning new clients and driving a positive P&L. The role will have a clear mandate to:
  • Leadership \xe2\x80\x93 quickly establishthemselves as an admired leader for the region. Advocating for the agency and role modelling the values, behaviours and our attitude of Positive Provocation.
  • Commercial \xe2\x80\x93 identify andrealise market opportunities and leverage commercial, product and client teams offering and services to deliver high quality, profitable work
  • Client Development \xe2\x80\x93 Drive client relationships and seek opportunities to evaluate Wavemaker service for improvements. For the region ensure first class client service is maintained on all accounts that result in retention, growthand industry leading client satisfaction feedback.
  • New Business \xe2\x80\x93 Drive active prospecting and leveraging market contact and insights drive the growth agenda for Wavemaker in the region. This would include identifying and harvestingopportunities through to leading new business pitches and presentations where required.
  • Talent \xe2\x80\x93 drive the people agenda that helps develop Wavemaker as a best place to work, that creates a culture thatempowers employees to flourish and sets the benchmark in hiring and developing the best talent for future ready capabilities.
The role will report to the Global Wavemaker CEO and GroupM Regional CEO. The role will be part of the Wavemaker Global Leadership Board and Regional GroupM Exco. It will be the line manager (with the local GroupM CEO) and for all local market CEOs across the APAC region and key central resource leadership. Provided in the additional information section. Responsibilities The APAC CEO will be responsible for deploying and executing the global Wavemaker strategy in APAC in order to achieve our short and long-term commercial goals in the region. This will focus primarily on:
Primary Remit:
  • Support all local marketAPAC CEOs
  • Retainand grow current clients, develop growth plans
  • Exco sponsorship of tba key client relationships
  • Winnew business, locally, regionally and Globally
  • Develop award winning work
  • Hire the very besttalent
  • Deliver theP&L

Product and Position Responsibilities:
  • With the local market CEO, agree/approve annual agency plans and KPIs including financial, client development, new business, product and talent.
  • Communicate centrally approved business growth targets, specifically.
  • Targets for developing existing and delivering new business
  • Targets for diversifying revenue streams
  • SU unit growth targets
  • Financial and profitability targets
  • Improve reputation and ranking (COMvergence) of Wavemaker, via PR, Marketing and delivering innovative and award winning
  • Provide regular and accurate performance reporting to global CEO and CFO
  • Maintain acollaborative relationship with Regional GroupM

People and Culture Responsibilities:
  • Working with the Global Chief Talent Officer, champion and execute the talent strategy to ensure that we attract, develop and retain the best people.
  • In-line with the global positioning; provide the inspiration for the agencies mission and values, goals, policies, services and initiatives.
  • With the local CEO help build an \xe2\x80\x98A\xe2\x80\x99 Player team and succession plans
  • Act as a role model, mentor and coach to the CEOs and others across the network,

The candidate
:
  • The preferred candidate needs to be able toattract and manage strong local leadership, they need to be inspiring, engaging and bring energy and engagement to the role. The successful candidate needs to possess many of the following skills, experience and attributes:
  • Atransformational leader who has a proven track record to positively provoke growth for clients and employees across the region.
  • A leaderwho has driven the marketing and commercial agenda in a large and sophisticated communications environment.
  • Successful track record ofwinning and accelerating the development of client relationships at a senior level on a pan-regional or global basis and have direct involvement in managing those relationships.
  • Credible communication and influencing skills, with proven experience in leading a company as the public face of a business of size in APAC with 2,000 people.
  • Commercially minded with prior experience of managing a P&L for successful business
  • Personally driven, the successful candidate will be very effective at buildingand developing talent by generating excitement and enthusiasm.
  • A thought leader with previous experience of profile-raising who is an impactful speaker at industry events and forums.
  • Must betechnically proficient in and experienced in driving diversified and creating new revenue streams with data, performance, eCommerce.
