Job Description


Wavemaker is looking for a Regional Investment Director to join our APAC regional team based in Singapore. The individual will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of global/regional clients and working closely with regional and local client leads as well as our local market investment leads. You will apply your knowledge and experience in growing new business, pricing, commitments, media audits and investment solutions across our top clients. This role reports to the Head of Investment based in Hong Kong.

What is expected in:


3 months
  • Meet and begin growing your relationships with key stakeholders from GroupM/WM both locally and regionally
  • Have become familiar with the suite of investment solutions in the group
  • Get a foundational understanding of your key clients, their business and our trading commitments made
6 months
  • Independently manage your dedicated accounts across the region in terms of accountability, KPIs, audits, suppliers and partnerships
  • Assess growth opportunities for your pool of clients and develop a roadmap for growth within your client pool
  • Work with the regional Head of Investment to plan, organise and execute workshops and trainings for the investment community as needed
12 months
  • Co-lead new business initiatives around our pricing propositions and submission including benchmarking and driving additional measurable value via areas like partnerships, tools, systems etc.
  • Have authority as the trusted and knowledgeable investment lead on clients and be the first point of contact for internal stakeholders globally, regionally and locally
  • Understand our Wavemaker suite of planning tools, how we allocate budgets and optimise our media plans for effective use of client investments

Responsibilities of the role:
Client trading performance accountability
  • Coordinating closely with local client teams and where relevant, our global investment leads, on delivering our value commitments to clients with our proprietary value tracking systems
  • Preparing and presenting quarterly/annual reviews of our buying performance to clients
  • Assume responsibility for our regional value commitment tracking and implement strategies to improve the accuracy of our pricing vs. commitments and drive change in client teams where needed
  • Work with local client teams and auditors on regional and multimarket media audits, to ensure a smooth & fair process
Investment management
  • Lead and partner with regional/local client teams to ensure effective buying strategies are in place in both offline and online channels, especially beyond traditional buying metrics
  • Leveraging the benefits of regional and local partnerships for your clients and ensuring visibility of deals to teams, as well as working with GroupM on your clients’ need for future partnerships
  • POV creation and innovation sessions for clients based on needs and market trends impacting their business and media strategies
  • Explore untapped opportunities that will both drive value for your clients (e.g. partnerships, tools, insights, savings) and contribute to overall KPIs
  • Assist clients in JBP creation and negotiation where needed, and ensure maximum value from deals is extracted for clients
Managing pitches
  • Briefing of markets and management of process and timelines across markets for global/regional/key local pitches
  • Drive and create winning buying proposals together with local teams, ensuring sufficient due diligence has been done on benchmarking, correctness and buying strategies
  • Create and communicate strong pricing and value stories that highlight our position as an innovative and provocative agency focused on what clients need
Projects
  • Help drive WM and GroupM investment related initiatives including building and strengthening the WM investment community
  • Contribute and occasionally lead internal workshops for our local investment teams

What you will need:
  • 8+ years related work experience in the field of media planning/buying preferably with some experience in digital (Social, eCommerce, Programmatic)
  • Good communication skills in English (written and spoken)
  • Strong overall understanding of media KPIs across media channels (e.g. CPM, CPV, viewability, Brand Safety, CPRP etc.)
  • Proactive and communicative, able to work in a complex matrix organisation with multiple stakeholders
  • Solid capabilities in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
