What you will be working on:

About the Team Data Science Accelerator (DSA) Department Our Policy, Statistics and Research (PSR) Group plays a vital role in influencing CPF policies and operations; DSA is a department within PSR Group. Data informs many of the decisions we make in CPFB; and to perform our roles well, CPFB has embarked on a journey to become Data-Smart. In support of that, you will be part of a team that builds data science capabilities for all levels in the organization and champions data visualisations to help CPFB extract value from data for effective business decisions and policymaking. What you will be working on As an intern with DSA\'s capability development team, your responsibilities will include: \xc2\xb7 Capability Building - Assist in the running of in-house training courses for Power BI, PySpark and SQL coding. This builds up capabilities in CPFB to leverage the data analytics tools found in our cloud-based platform. \xc2\xb7 Champion Data Visualisation Projects - Work with stakeholders on data visualization projects. This includes the migration of Tableau dashboards onto the Power BI platform (our enterprise visualisation tool). You should value add by suggesting improvements to the data manipulation process, the data model and the design of dashboards/ visualisations. \xc2\xb7 Assist in Data Science and AI (DSAI) Projects - Have the opportunity to work on and assist data scientists / analysts on DSAI projects such as machine learning and generative AI. Candidates with suitable knowledge will also have the opportunity to experience aspects of data engineering within CPFB\'s cloud-based data platform. \xc2\xb7 Knowledge Management, User Experience - As part of the capability building and Data-Smart strategic planning office, you will also be tasked with the maintenance and enhancement of the team\'s website to ensure currency and improve usability.

What you can expect During your internship with CPF Board, you can expect: \xc2\xb7 Learning Opportunities: Gain valuable hands-on experience across the data life cycle, from engagement of business users, data preparation, data modelling to dashboard/ report development. \xc2\xb7 Mentorship: Receive guidance and mentorship from data analysts. \xc2\xb7 Exposure: You will be exposed to the inner workings of the public service sector and understand the role of data and how it supports decision-making in a government agency. What we are looking for We are seeking candidates who meet the following criteria: \xc2\xb7 Available Full-time (5 days/week) from May to Dec 2024 \xc2\xb7 Currently pursuing a Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science or a related field. \xc2\xb7 Preferably familiar with Python, SQL, HTML and Power BI. \xc2\xb7 Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively within a team. \xc2\xb7 Willingness to adapt and learn in a fast-paced environment. \xc2\xb7 Proactive and self-motivated with a desire to take on new challenges.
