What the role is:Policy and Planning Department is responsible for developing EMA\'s strategic policies to advance our strategic goals of forging an energy system that is sustainable, resilient, dynamic and efficient.As part of a team of analysts, you will play a key role in driving EMA\'s energy policy development and spearhead our sustainability efforts. As a Policy Analyst, you may be involved in the following roles:
- Develop robust and coherent long-term masterplan for the energy sector.
Analyse the trade-offs and implications on the plans/pathways our energy trilemma.
- Assess the interlinkages and interdependencies across various energy and sustainability policies to ensure coherence and alignment towards our strategic goals.
- Keep abreast of emerging energy and carbon trends/policies (e.g. carbon markets, RECs), and assessing their impact and suitability to Singapore\'s unique circumstances.
- Coordinate and monitor the development of power sector climate change measures to ensure that we are on track towards meeting our national objectives.
- Facilitate collaboration across key internal and external stakeholders (including government agencies, industry players) on various projects.We are looking for people with strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to deep-dive into relevant areas to assess trade-offs and extract new insights. You need to be comfortable with navigating ambiguity, be able to problem-solve, and possess a strong desire to contribute to Singapore\'s energy transition.Requirements:
- Keen interest in energy polices/markets/regulations/technologies and public service
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with capability to weigh trade-offs/implications between policy choices and make strategic recommendations
- Comfortable in, as necessary, undertaking desktop research, working with datasets and data tools (e.g. Excel modelling/projections), and/or facilitating studies with key stakeholders to support policy analysis and recommendations
- Competent communication skills to present, convince and inspire
- Strong learning orientation (e.g. a curious mind and willingness to go into the details, think creatively to problem solve)
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage and collaborate with stakeholders
