Introduction
As an IBM Application Architect, you directly help clients transform their business and solve complex problems. You will define the scope and vision for projects that deliver customized solutions using your knowledge of IBM platforms. You are a technical leader, serving as a liaison among business partners, technical resources, and project stakeholders.

Your Role and Responsibilities
Analyzes and translate IT requirements using modernization frameworks into components of a modernized solution. Has expertise in legacy asset analysis, code restructuring and refactoring, code conversion and business logic extraction into executable business rules applicable for OpenShift. Has expertise in one or more legacy platforms, Kubernetes based platform and integration and service exposure mechanisms to interface components for reuse by Systems of Engagement; is familiar with development and testing of applications in hybrid cloud environments and can be part of Delivery/Engagement teams. Reuse and enhance Digital modernization assets, methods and collateral. Has expertise on RedHat OpenShift based platform components and services.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Required skills: Microservices, Docker/Kubernetes, API Connect, Openshift, Cloud Development, Cloud Architecture with hyperscalers, Big Data
Understanding business context and defining effective solutions.
Consultant with banking experience advice business on direction to take.
Define technical, operational and user requirements.
Present solution and get stakeholder buy-in.
Work with infra-architects to define the infrastructure setup needed.
Guide and mentor teams to deliver the solution.
Define reference architecture and standards for teams to adhere. Conduct reviews to ensure compliance.
Foresee potential problems and proactively suggest improvements.
Build framework components and complex parts of the solution.
Hand off solution to operational support teams, and assist support teams in troubleshooting production problems.


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
10+ years of experience as a solution architect.
Experience in banking domain preferred
Experience architecting end to end solution approach for Open banking and Digital experience platforms.
Experience working with Cloud Native application development using Java/Spring Boot/NodeJS.
Experience with addressing security across layers.
Experience with operational management of solutions delivered to production.
Experience working with Kubernetes platform (OpenShift or Docker EE preferable).
Experience designing and building solutions with IBM API Connect API product.
Knowledge of infrastructure setup involved in realisation of a solution.
Good Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems.
Experience with Agile delivery and DevOps methods.
Business case modelling skills would be preferable.
Ability to work collaboratively and productively across internal and client teams.
Cloud Certification preferable.
