The candidate will lead the Azelis Market Segment and ensure sustainable value growth of Azelis and further establish market leadership and reputation.As a key growth industry for Azelis, this role provides opportunity for the right candidate to evolve in a leadership role as the business and team of the APAC organization will grow rapidly.Reporting line & LocationThe Market Segment Director, Food & Health will report to the Asia Pacific Business Development Director.This role will be based in Singapore, and travel will be part of the role.Main AccountabilitiesLong Term Profitable Growth Develop a value growth strategy for the MS; strategy should address building the lateral value chain. Assist MDs / BMs to translate/dovetail the value growth strategy into the regional implementation plans and monitor progress of implementation. Develop and implement a clear communication around the strategy to ensure full awareness and buy-in of all internal stakeholders. Support Sales Team in terms of Business Development, helping to initiate projects and close deals at customer levelPrincipal Development - hunting for mandates extension, new and existing principals Define and prioritize key prospects according to MS strategy and regional implementation plans in order to build-up / enhance the lateral value chain. Contact and visit the targets to define interest and potential. Define terms and conditions and contribute to contracting. Translate into action plans, execute and coordinate (including on-boarding) together with the regions/countries. Ensure proper implementation of a new mandate.Principal Management Monitor business performance of key principals, and help define performance improvement measures. Responsible for key principals. Participate to Group Principal Steering committees as required. Participate in review meetings with other important and high growth principals. Establish appropriate level of coordination via GPM/IPM/PM according to the action plan.Development of regional teams Contribute to build MS-specific business and technical expertise of the regional commercial teams. Support the Business Development Director and regional management team to identify and close major gaps in local teams. Ensure synergy and cross-fertilization of knowledge between regions. Give support and help prioritize. Understand customer dynamics by country (joint visits with local sales may be required).Key accounts Define and implement a key-account strategy in cooperation with the regions and/or other MS when appropriate. Understand customer dynamics via regular contact with customers supporting the KAM.Centers of excellence Make recommendations on the number, equipment and location of application labs and follow up on lab implementation. Drive and prioritize application Lab / technical developments. Establish appropriate regulatory expertise for the MS.Market intelligence Gather, structure and diffuse as appropriate information about market developments (technical, competitors-benchmark, principals, etc). Budget responsibility for the appropriate tools (Mintel, Newport etc).Marketing/Promotion In conjunction with the Corporate Communications team ensure appropriate promotional tools are available and used by the MS. Define specific product and service promotional activities and follow up (fairs, e-marketing, PR). Responsible for up-to-date content in website together with Corporate and local Communications.Promote and implement the Azelis culture / values / behavior.Skills & Competences Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering/Food Technology/Nutrition is required; 10 years' experience in the chemical industry, i.e. in both technical and commercial roles; Self-motivated to start up new initiatives to generate more sales; Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills; Creative to develop new means to generate interest and fill the sales pipeline; The ability to adapt to new requirements and have a flexible approach; Highly organized and able to meet principal expectations Confident in interacting at all levels within the business; Innovative; The ability to think commercially and deliver results;The requirements of the job will develop and change due to the needs of the business and the ideal candidate will be expected to adapt to these changes.
