Job Description


The Role:

The Emerging Markets and Asia Pacific Equities team (EMAP) is currently looking for an India & Global Emerging Markets (GEM) Product Analyst at Vice President (VP) level to cover primarily the Indian Equity Market but also other GEM market and companies.

The role will include working closely with senior regional Portfolio Managers, the India PM/Senior India Product Analyst and the broader analyst team. The responsibility of this role is to cover a broad base of Indian equities and possibly GEM equities under the direction of the aforementioned senior persons (including having financial forecasts, and managing interactions with both the company and sell-side analysts). The breadth of coverage will be across multiple sectors. Additionally the person is expected to provide timely macroeconomic, political and company insights.

Key responsibilities :

  • Research the macro environment, companies and industries in GEM countries; cover the relevant markets and recommend stocks.
  • Create and utilizes financial models for investment valuation. Technical excel and modelling skills are essential.
  • Make relative value comparisons and investment recommendations to portfolio managers.
  • Collaborate and communicate with a global network of J.P. Morgan Asset Management analysts.

Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 6 years of relevant investment experience; with prior experience in India equities research
  • Key skills are analytical skill, measured investment judgement, decision-making, intellectual curiosity, intellectual honesty, teamwork, pro-active communication
  • The role requires finding new investment ideas as well as thorough understanding, valuing and maintaining coverage on existing investments
  • This is a demanding job requiring highly motivated individuals who are willing to work hard to build up their knowledge base, performance track record and credibility within the team.
