Job Description


:OverviewYou will work closely with the Director, Partnership Development to develop gift opportunities and create proposals to secure major gifts and steward major donors as you lead the Gallery\'s Major Gifts and Stewardship team. You will identify, solicit, cultivate and maintain relationships with a portfolio of contacts (existing and prospective) donors to match their interests with the Gallery\'s programs. You will play a key role to help the Gallery maintain its fiscal health as it meets long-term sustainability goals.Key Responsibilities:Major Gifts and Stewardship

  • Grow the major gifts program through building a pipeline of donors through the Major Gift Cycle.
  • Build and refine development strategies to identify, qualify, prioritise, cultivate, solicit and recognise their donations.
  • Develop initiatives to maintain relationships with current donors to steward, retain and steer them to the next level of giving.
  • Recognise and steward donors through initiatives including impact reports and events.
Corporate Partnerships
  • Develop multi-year partnerships with corporations, foundations, and philanthropists to support the Gallery\'s programs which include education and outreach initiatives as well as festivals.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities and craft compelling pitches to secure support for the Gallery\'s programs.
  • Lead and facilitate gift structuring to match donor\'s interests.
  • Nurture a culture of corporate philanthropy through encouraging Corporate Volunteering and Corporate Matching.
Governance
  • Ensure that Policies and Best Practices regarding ethical gift acceptance are in place and reviewed regularly.
  • Provide advice to team on governance related matters.
Team Management and Operations
  • Oversee and manage the Major Gift, Partnership and Governance Team including providing guidance to team members on prospecting, pitching, developing strategy, stewardship and governance.
  • Oversee the development of communication materials such as impact reports and donor updates.
  • Strategic planning and budgeting for the Partnership Development Division.
  • Execute ad hoc duties to further the goals of the Partnership Development Division, where appropriate
Qualifications:
  • At least 8-10 years of relevant work experience in fundraising, philanthropy, grant management, business development, corporate social responsibility, donor/stakeholder management, or related field. Experience with major gift fundraising and grant management is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of corporate giving, foundations and philanthropy.
  • Experienced strategic thinker who can craft new and creative pitch strategies and proposals to cultivate and build meaningful relationships with large corporates and foundations.
  • Fast learner who can think creatively across disciplines and work productively to help secure various pitches.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent manager Prior experience managing a team of around 5 people preferred.
  • Responsible and reliable professional who enjoys challenge of developing relationships and engaging with varied stakeholders, internal and external.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to communicate effectively at different levels and with people across diverse backgrounds.
  • A team player who is positive, collaborative, resourceful and enjoys working with colleagues across multiple departments.
  • Social conscious mindset with an appreciation of cultural and intercultural sensitivities.
  • Love for and understanding of the Arts is a plus.
  • Passion for the mission of the Gallery and the ability to inspire others in that mission.
