Lead a team of supervisory staff to plan, coordinate and manage outsourced environmental services, i.e. waste management, cleaning, water quality management, pest control management, recycling) and in-house environmental control team to ensure high standard of aesthetic and sustenance, safe and healthy environment for the enjoyment of our guests and stakeholders. Also, to collaborate with stakeholders to deliver the One-Sentosa Experience and Sustainable Sentosa Plan.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage staff well being issues pertaining to his subordinates, including work safety, training, rostering
- Ensure compliance of integrity in the matters of stakeholders, processes, procurement and external relationships (contractors and suppliers);
- Contract management and administration to ensure contractors/suppliers delivering outsourced environmental services comply with requirements and standards set forth in the contract specifications as well as consistently fulfilling Island Operations\xe2\x80\x99 dashboard;
- Set goals, direction, coach on the job, monitor, manages and measure performance standards of Environmental Control Unit;
- To review operational and safety framework of all aspects of environmental services so that they are in compliance with the existing regulatory requirements. eg. WSHA and for the well-being of the staff;
- Oversees and manages Environmental Control Unit\xe2\x80\x99s procurement function and budgetary control and ensure they are within SDC\xe2\x80\x99s set targets;
- Lead, plan, support island business and stakeholders in sizing up cleaning, pest control and waste management services for ad hoc and internal and external signature events like Siloso Beach Party, Zouk Out, etc.
- Involvement and coordinate in sustainability and environmental protection efforts and initiatives;
- Operational planning and development for Environmental Services / Environmental Protection / Sustainability to be in line with and delivery of Sustainable Sentosa Plan;
- Leadership involvement with the coordination during Crisis in the fields of environmental services like oil spill response, pandemic clean up etc
- Advocate/educate stakeholders on proper guidelines on maintaining good public health for the island, i.e. mosquito breeding prevention, waste management, recycling and hygiene practices, pandemic preparation etc;
- Liaise closely with stakeholders in Asset Management, maintenance and environmental services requirements for new development or fast track projects, environmental studies etc;
- Forge and maintain synergy with other Divisions and Island Operations Island Department in line with SDC\xe2\x80\x99s set targets.
- Minimally Degree in the area of environmental management / science / services / sustainability / environmental protection. Minimum 5 years experience in managing a team that deals with day to day administration of environmental services. Experience in Facility Management will be an added advantage.
- Added advantage if the candidate possesses Environmental Control Officer and / or Pest Control Technician License by NEA;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with staff and stakeholders;
- A team player who is able to work independently;
- Good IT skills i.e. Microsoft word, Excel, Power Point;
- Able to multi-task and possess strong sense of urgency to complete tasks efficiently in a fast pace working environment;
- Willing and able to work on shift work, weekends and public holidays; and
- Class 3 driving license is a must.
