Job Description



1. JOB PURPOSE

The Assistant Manager / Manager leads the Research Finance & KPI unit under NHG Group Research. He/she will work closely with other unit heads in the department in supporting NHG Group Research’s administrative functions. This includes overseeing the cost centres and cluster research budgets, cluster research KPI reporting, as well as other research support initiatives. He/she will have responsibility in managing NHG Group Research’s consolidated budget for management reporting, providing advice and budget utilisation status to internal stakeholders in a timely manner.

2. MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Research Finance

  • Review and consolidate Group Research cost centres’ budgets/projections/charge-outs, including preparation of paper and presentation slides.
  • Tracking of cost centres’ budgets through variance analysis and monitoring cluster research budgets through utilisation reports
  • Prepare annual report to Board Committee on NHG research expenditures, research KPIs and cluster research budgets utilisation.
  • Oversee funding submissions to external agencies, such as NMRC, CRIS, Enterprise SG.
  • Provide guidance on finance operations including procurement, payment, billing, and fixed asset matters.

Cluster Research KPI Dashboard
  • Ensure regular and timely updates of research KPIs into the cluster dashboard system from institutional and department stakeholders and conducting quality checks.
  • Facilitate annual reporting on NHG balance scorecard for Research
  • Identify and conduct UAT for continuous system improvement

Other Group Research’s Initiatives

Manage the annual renewal of the National Clinical Trial Insurance policy, provide secretariat support to a strategic research committee and duties as assigned by Director.

3. JOB REQUIREMENTS

(a) Education/Training/Experience
  • Degree in Business Management with experience in healthcare operations, or Degree in Health Sciences with experience in cost centre planning and administration.
  • Preferably having at least 2 years’ experience in managing a team of 2-3 persons.
  • Demonstrated track record of leadership, and ability to work well with internal/external stakeholders and management.
  • Familiarity with SAP software is beneficial.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications is essential.
