Assistant Manager, Programmes

As an officer at the Changi Chapel Museum (CCM) and Reflections at Bukit Chandu (RBC) that are managed by the National Museum of Singapore (NMS), she/he will support, organise and execute programmes primarily for schools and the general public.

Responsibilities:

  • To manage and facilitate school visits to both CCM and RBC. This includes taking in bookings and addressing queries from schools, deconflicting visits and maintaining the calendar for school visits, as well as conducting meet and greet for students and recce trips for teachers. She/he would also need to assist in creating EDMs to reach out to schools on a half-yearly basis and exploring ways to increase school visits to both CCM and RBC
  • To plan and execute programmes for the public, in conjunction with commemorative events such as Total Defence Day (February). These may include talks, tours, theatre or workshops held over the weekends at three locations \xe2\x80\x93 CCM, RBC and NMS. Tasks will include ideation and research for programmes, procurement of services from vendors, liaising with key programme partners (collaborators, vendors, schools, volunteers, etc.), publicity, and coordinating with other departments in the museums to ensure smooth running of the programmes. It may also include working with other museums and institutions to co-present multi-sited programmes
  • To develop educational resources for school and families. This includes research and writing of content, as well as finding and working with suitable vendors to produce the resources
  • The officer may also be involved in supporting other needs at CCM and RBC, such as visitor services
Requirements:
  • Degree or diploma in the Arts and Social Sciences, with a keen interest in Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s history and heritage
  • At least 2 years of relevant working experience in programming and events management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as organisational, project management and public engagement skills.
  • Motivated, able to multi-task, works well with a team and independently with some supervision
  • Able to work outside of regular office hours on a periodical basis (including weekends and public holidays) due to the nature of the work. Corresponding hours of time-off will be offered for official work done outside of office hours
  • Willing to travel between CCM, RBC and NMS on a weekly basis
