COMPANY DESCRIPTION
The Haven is a residential home to care for children and young people who are unable to be cared for by their own families. We provide a comprehensive residential care programme, specially designed and directed towards preparing their reintegration into the community and reunion with their families. At The Haven, social workers and care staff work towards building a close relationship with the children and young people, seeking to be a mentor, teacher and counsellor to help them overcome their past hurts and to build up their resilience to face the future with a positive attitude. We also provide a programme which specialises in an alternative care approach for teenagers who require further assistance while pursuing post-secondary education, known as Transitions@Haven. DESIGNATION : Assistant Manager - TH (Residential Services)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with the residents in accordance with Gracehaven\xe2\x80\x99s vision and mission and MSF\xe2\x80\x99s regulatory framework, maintaining professional and purposeful relationships with colleagues and residents, respecting and valuing individuals\xe2\x80\x99 diversity and the variety of their contribution and ensuring that the service provided to young people upholds these principles.
• Assist the Manager, Residential to plan, lead and monitor the daily operations of the Block to meet to service standards, including but not limited to:
• Development and implementation of the Home policies and procedures needed.
• Administration of personnel policies in a consistent and fair manner.
• Monitor to ensure that care staff performs daily roll calls and promptly provide accurate updates on admissions, discharges and incidents in the required records and to the respective concerned.
• Ensure the staff team delivers their work duties well and provide the necessary care and supervision to the residents, while also engaging them constructively and meaningfully with programmes/activities.
• Provide coaching support and regular review of the staff team\xe2\x80\x99s performance and keep the Manager promptly informed of any significant feedback and/or key issues or incidents of discipline or concern.
• Liaise with school and MOE to reinstate residents back to school and take responsibility for the educational needs of the residents under your purview.
• Establish close working partnerships both internally (within your Unit Programme, and with the rest of the programmes hosted within The Haven\xe2\x80\x93 both at the team and volunteer levels) and with other agencies and institutions so as to maximise our community resources and support systems.

QUALIFICATIONS
At least a diploma, preferably in Youth Work, Social Services, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Nursing, Events Management, Community Development, Outdoor and Adventure Learning (Enrolled Nurse, Student Care Teachers or any other relevant experiences working with children and youth are welcome to apply)

• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in residential home
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Meticulous, resourceful, independent and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Keen to work in children and youth sector
• A good communicator
• Work in collaboration with the team

Working Hours

• 44 hours per week
• 9 am to 6 pm or 11 am to 8 pm (inclusive 1 hour meal break)
