Role Overview

500 Southeast Asia\'s headcount has quadrupled in the past 24 months, and doubled in the past 12 months. From a handful of core team members, 500 Southeast Asia is now a team of 30 people, in 3 locations (Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia), as part of a larger firm with over 200 people in 20 more locations. We are looking for a people and performance-driven leader to keep this collection of hard-charging and ambitious professionals directed and nurtured.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage and implement successful and consistent people initiatives, processes, systems, tools, playbooks, solutions and programs to make functions and projects more effective and successful. Make HR systems the ultimate multiplier for the firm to achieve its targets and goals.
  • Accountable for all hiring, talent management, employee development, cross functional alignment and employee relations, employee feedback, career plans, HR information systems, including aligning compensation and performance management. You\'re both an advisor, a partner and driver of people matters for the partners.
  • Actively source, build talent pools and hire exceptional talent across Southeast Asia through personal network, employer brand initiatives and partnerships with organizations and recruitment partners.
  • Work with the General Partners and key stakeholders to create a positive, growth-oriented and productive workplace, where team members love the unique vibe and the culture that 500 has developed over the last decade.
Requirements
  • Prior a minimum of 8 years of experience in HR, people, hiring, and culture for a tech startup or a VC firm;
  • Prior experience leading people teams of a minimum of 3 people;
  • Passion and ability to articulate philosophy and approaches to build amazing workplaces;
  • A very nuanced and high standard for verbal and written English communication skills;
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to set clear guidelines and deadlines;
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
