The Role

TIME is seeking an Audience Editor to join the Singapore team to lead daily management of TIME\'s social media presence and audience growth across platforms. We are looking for a self-starter with meticulous attention to detail. The ideal candidate should have experience in journalism with a passion for social media, audience growth, and finding new ways to tell stories.

Responsibilities

  • Write social copy and execute day-to-day posting to TIME\'s social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and LINE
  • Develop strategy for one or more social platforms
  • Collaborate with edit, photo, art and video teams on daily news coverage and to help develop social rollout strategy for editorial packages and major global news events
  • Assign, write, and edit social-first content such as Twitter Moments, Instagram captions and TikTok videos
  • Ensure time.com is timely and accurate during the East Coast overnight by publishing wires and editing news stories from staff or freelance reporters around the world
  • Contribute to audience reports, pulling data and analyzing key metrics to inform larger social strategy
  • Lead newsroom conversations and trainings around audience strategy, digital growth, and support forward-planning from the Asia team
  • Cultivate relationships with freelance journalists in the Asia-Pacific region
  • Work with editors around the world in presenting our journalism on a range of digital and new media platforms
Qualifications
  • 4-5 years of relevant experience in a professional newsroom or equivalent experience in audience engagement
  • Strong editorial judgment and editing/writing skills
  • An interest in developing platforms and identifying new trends in social media
  • Experience using social media analytics tools
Location:

This is a hybrid role. Eligible candidates for the role must be within a commutable distance of TIME\'s Singapore office upon hire and may be expected to be physically present as needed.
