The Business Analyst role is key to the successful implementation of features and changes for Affinidi's products and services. This role will work in conjunction with the Business development, Product, and Engineering teams to explore, analyse and define problems from a technical and non-technical perspective, ultimately defining how a solution can be provided to a customer or partner. Once requirements are clearly understood, the BA will provide detailed requirements to engineering teams that are synthesised from the cross functional analysis. The BA role will remain connected to the software development lifecycle, working with project management and engineering teams to ensure successful delivery of the feature. The BA roles may also be involved in other projects and will be engaged from the outset of a project and play an advisory role to support management of teams within Affinidi. The BA role provides the bridge between technical engineering teams and the wider business. Responsibilities The BA's role will have a broad range of responsibilities given the central requirement to act as a conduit between business and engineering teams. Building feature hypothesis with cross functional teams and assisting in the validation of business use cases Gathering, validating and documenting business requirements . Analysis of data external competitors and internal commercial data such as product engagement metrics, predicted forecasts, product usage metrics Modelling business processes and identifying opportunities for process improvements . Assist the business teams in identifying benefits and disadvantages of existing and proposed solutions, and outlining risks and potential business impacts. Working with Product and Engineering teams, create functional specifications for proposed solutions and features . Creation of feature epics for proposed solution and working with product and engineering teams, develop feature user stories for each epic. Estimate development costs for staffing resource and any impact on computing services as well as identifying value to the business. Simplifying information and deciphering technical information so it is easily understood by the whole team . Working with technical project manager, develop implementation and testing plans for proposed solutions. Coordinating and assisting in the documentation of provided solutions for business and end users Supporting business transition and helping to establish change management practices in Affinidi. Skills and Experience You should have the relevant tertiary qualifications or related experience within the business analysis field. You are experience in analysis of business requirements for complex platforms, cloud and mobile application systems You have a good track record of building business requirement documents from cross functional team exploration You have worked in Scrum or Kanban based Agile environments and have a solid understanding of agile principals and practices including sprint ceremonies, iterative delivery of value, and validated learning. You have proven experience in synthesising functional deliverables from business specifications, clearly defining & communicating epic hypothesis, outcomes, leading indicators and non-functional requirements. You have a high attention to detail in all aspects of your role You understand Risk Management principles that can impact applications development and delivery You enjoy working in a start-up environment where deliverables and requirements may change during the life of a project or change. You are able to influence stakeholders through the use of sound analytical practices, providing empirical evidence for your decisions. You support and contribute to developing cultures that are inclusive and where everyone can belong You have worked with distributed teams, from many countries and cultures You understand the principals associated with information security, defining specifications and requirements that consider these principals.
