OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

This role will support the delivery of IT Solutions for the Global Logistics business with the objective of delivering end to end customer solution implementations efficiently and effectively. This includes coordinating and collaborating on solution design, development, and deployment for Global Logistics customers and business units.

In this role, you will combine business and process analysis with solution understanding to deliver project outcomes. You will work with Stakeholders, Customers, and Project Leads to, analyse, and synthesise requirements. You will capture, document, and manage these requirements, in formats relatable to Solution and IT functions throughout the project lifecycle.

You will be required to collaborate and innovate with solution and operations SME's to deliver effective and efficient IT solutions in a timely manner. You will take ownership of solution requirement gathering and refine options for design, ultimately leading to project sign off. The Analyst will engage stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to ensure requirements and project outcomes are clearly understood, documented, refined, and agreed by all key stakeholders.

You will work closely with all the functions involved in delivering Customer IT Solutions, especially Project Managers, Integration developers, Operations, Supply Chain Solutions, and Customers, to ensure there is sufficient information to sign-off and hand over through each phase of the project lifecycle.

Further to the core purpose of the role, the Analyst will be a contributing member to building strong relationships between the operations/customer and IT Teams

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop effective stakeholder relationships to ensure collaboration in the project planning and design phases, and throughout the lifecycle. Establish ongoing engagement and information flow to manage expectations.
  • Analyze business requirements and align to strategic objectives to ensure optimum IT solutions against the agreed budget and timeframes.
  • Evaluate end to end requirements, including business process and solution options and validate with stakeholders.
  • Translate business requirements into a customer specific IT system solution. Document system test cases, customer specific system SOP's and EDI data field mapping preparation in collaboration with the integration and product team.
  • Support solution implementation tasks: testing (SIT), key user training, and system process mapping as required by the project.
  • Provide input and develop requirements and identify IT and operational dependencies and assumptions comprehensively.
  • Identify potential risks, issues, gaps, and dependencies in the development of solutions. Create functional requirement document on how to address them.
  • Work with service delivery team for effective transition of post go-live support activities.
  • Support Post Implementation Reviews, improvement, standardisation and quality assurance for business analysis artefacts and deliverables.
  • Help to develop and manage the appropriate tools, processes, and templates, and create a centre of excellence for best practice in IT Business Analysis.
Qualifications

PRE-REQUISITES:
  • 7+ years' experience working as a business analyst on Solution Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) projects - specifically in Transportation, Logistics or Supply Chain Management industry.
  • Strong understanding of contract logistics operations and working knowledge of Warehouse/Transport Management Systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of business analysis activities, highly skilled in elicitation techniques and experienced in requirements gathering.
  • Experience in working in agile environments and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Understanding of project management lifecycles, disciplines, and procedures.
  • Experience working across all levels of the organisation and engaging a diverse range of stakeholders including customers.
  • Strong proactive communicator:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Presentation skills in English
  • Experience with techniques such as use case analysis, process flow diagramming, process mapping and detailed business requirements.
  • Understanding of EDI and data integration principles and standards (ANSI X12, EDIFACT etc).
  • Experience in using BY WMS (Discrete) will be an added advantage.
Education and/or professional
  • Degree qualified in Information Systems or Logistics Management (or equivalent)
  • PMP / PRINCE2 or equivalent certification desirable
  • Agile Certification desired
