Job Summary:



The

Business Development Manager (BDM)

will be responsible for identifying and expanding business opportunities in the

FMCG wholesale market

. This includes managing relationships with

retailers, distributors, kirana stores, supermarkets, and modern trade partners

. The role involves

lead generation, sales growth, market expansion, and brand positioning

to increase market penetration and revenue.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Market Expansion & Business Growth



Identify and onboard

new retailers, wholesalers, and distributors

for FMCG products. Develop

regional sales strategies

to increase market presence and product reach. Explore

B2B partnerships

and negotiate deals with key wholesale clients. Conduct

market research

to identify new business opportunities and consumer trends.

2. Sales & Revenue Generation



Drive

bulk sales

by targeting wholesale buyers and large retail chains. Meet and exceed

monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets

. Develop and execute promotional plans,

seasonal offers

, and incentive schemes. Handle

pricing negotiations, credit terms, and contract closures

with clients.

3. Client & Distributor Relationship Management



Build and maintain strong relationships with

wholesale customers, traders, and stockists

. Provide

customer support, order tracking, and problem resolution

. Ensure

on-time delivery

and maintain healthy stock levels at distribution points.

4. Marketing & Brand Visibility



Work with the marketing team to plan

advertising, in-store promotions, and branding

. Organize

roadshows, trade fairs, and industry networking events

. Strengthen relationships with

modern trade outlets like D-Mart, Reliance Retail, and Metro Cash & Carry

.

5. Performance Monitoring & Reporting



Track

sales performance, market demand, and competitor activities

. Provide regular reports on

revenue growth, sales pipeline, and customer feedback

. Use

CRM tools and data analytics

to optimize sales strategies.

Key Qualifications & Skills:



Bachelor's degree

in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).

3+ years of experience

in FMCG wholesale, distribution, or B2B sales. Strong knowledge of the

Indian FMCG market, retail networks, and supply chain

. Excellent

negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills

. Ability to manage

multiple accounts, high-volume transactions, and logistics coordination

. Proficiency in

MS Excel, CRM software, and data analysis tools

.
